MH3 has been a huge success for Capcom, basically. They not only shipped and will sell through 1 Million units, but they do indeed collect on online fees. Interestingly enough, at Bic now, if you buy a Wii system with MH3, you get 3000 Nintendo points free.
The last 100K copies of MH3 sitting around will be gone within a few months on the whim of its legs, the Wii price drop, holiday boosts and post-release promos such as the one mentioned above. The only thing I can think of that will kill the game is MHP3. That said, I think Capcom would have loved to and expected to ship more than the 1 Million they initially did, especially since WW expectations were around 2 Million. But, they should take what they can get at this point. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think MH3 is now actually ahead of every PSP game on the market with the exception of the MH games, having surpassed the most recent number we have for Dissidia. |

They also had no other real choice of where to put it. Putting it on the HD consoles would have meant a much larger budget and a decent chance it would have sold less. Plus as is they can basically just port it to PSP the real bread and butter for this series.

People forget the cost of development on PSP is far lower than on Wii as well. It all kind of offsets things, with PSP costs being lower than Wii, plus selling more copies, while the Wii is raking in online fees. To what extent, no one here can truly say outside of capcom.
Selling now 8k a week, I have a hard time seeing them doing another 100k to reach a million any time soon unless holiday bump is massive for them. Last edited by BattleMonkey : 09-26-2009 at 03:08 PM. |

I would not be suprised if Pokemon did not chart next week, I swear I went to 5 or 6 stores within the last few days looking for this game and it has been sold out all week. And from what I have seen there has been no restock, if there was one I missed out on it.

I just realized that, with the latest data from Famitsu, PS3 and Wii Fit have crossed streams again more than one year after it happened for the first time:
Code:
I don't know how to make funny graphs, though... ![]() Now, I saw people on 2ch plotting PS3 vs Poke Walker. Can't the poor PS3 catch a break? And FFXIII would have to surpass everyone's expectations to be on that list. |

So, Tales of Graces is coming in December. I'm guessing Namco's smart enough to release it during a different week than FF XIII? Anyway, what are people here expecting from this title?
Also, considering all of the bellowing that's been going on in this thread, Nintendo certainly seems to have a good fall/winter line-up for the Wii - along with the price drop. It'll be interesting to see how this holiday season pans out - esp. for DS, Wii and PS3... |

I'm pretty sure that all Tales Studio games are profitable. Since now 7 years they pump out more and more games with pretty much the same staff size, and all those Namco producers involved with Tales Studio games also climbed the career ladders a lot in these years indicating that those Tales Studio games fare also financially better than most Namco games within Japan.

"main" is kind of a stretch, but usually main console Tales is intended as a Tales made by Symphonia/Vesperia team. Last edited by Paracelsus : 09-26-2009 at 10:56 PM. |

New Garaph trick. Some of you may remember that about half a year ago I was toying with a DS-friendly version of Garaph. However, since I couldn't get the subdomain stuff going as I wanted, I just left it at the stage of experiment. Well, today I got the subdomain stuff working as I wished. Using the subdomain will lead you to the same pages as not using the subdomain, but since you are using the sub-domain it makes formatting differences thanks to if-then statements. In this way the next time I want to make a change, I only have one file to deal with and the differences will show up no matter what subdomain you're viewing from.
So not all of the many pages are modified, but the biggest interconnecting set are so there's plenty of browsing potential: the main page, the individual software pages, the weekly overviews, and the software group pages. garaph.info ds.garaph.info psp.garaph.info As usual, tell me if I've flubbed something up. |
