Fate/Extra (PSP, MMV x Image Epoch) - Why is Niinou producing a Fate game? ;_;
#1
This week's Famitsu announces yet another new Image Epoch title. This time, it's Fate/Extra from MMV. It's based on the Fate/Stay Night universe by Type Moon, and it looks like a 3D dungeon RPG with some sort of action based battles. Takashi Takeuchi from Type Moon is the character supervisor, while Kinoko Nasu from Type Moon is the scenario supervisor. Kazuya Niinou (EO, 7th Dragon) is producing the game, while Shuetsu Kadowaki (Luminous Arc 2 director) is directing.

Man, on face value the game really does look like a Persona ripoff. You can even select a male or female lead, there are classroom scenes, the dungeon crawling looks kinda like P3/P4. Lol Niinou, are you taking revenge on Hashino out of jealousy?

Well, a Fate RPG could be awesome. The character information pages in the original game certainly make it seem like it wanted to be an RPG.

The 'H' stands for hentai.

More Fate/Stay night is awesome, although I prefer the original source material to get a USA release.
I want to see what all the hullabaloo is about, since many of them said that the game is far better than the anime iteration (which I loved). |

Damn, mixed feelings...on one hand the Type Moon nut in me would love a good Fate RPG but on the other I can't help but feel its wasting Imageepoch potential.
Since its Marvelous, I guess they are too afraid to bank on a new IP so they got a popular license. At the same time being a popular license in Japan, a localization is ... doubtful at best. PD: Now if they add Shiki and Touko (from Kara no Kyoukai) as bonus playable characters.... |

I wonder how Atlus feels about how the director and producer of this are both ex-Atlus staff. ![]() |
