2 hours 34 minutes in. Just acquired the drill power.
I had to stop because my wrist was in agony. The Lost Winds games are certainly some of the more tiring on the Wii. The game's flowing nicely. None of the mechanics have been overdone and the physical element makes even the simplest of puzzles feel enjoyable. Really impressed. |

Just bought it and peeked into it for a couple minutes. Not as hand-holding as the original in the beginning, which is nice.
Just like the first one, it has really great presentation for a WiiWare title. Love the music and the new snow environments. With this and Icarian (which I still haven't finished), it's been good times for platformer fans lately.

I finished it. It's better than the first in every respect and took me 5 and a half hours to finish. The clock said 4 hrs 50 minutes but there were quite a few times where I got stuck and didn't save so its longer.
Its far more polished and intricate, just better all around than the first game. It doesn't really do a good job of explaining the old moves from the first game for Lost Winds noobs but I assume that's in the manual. Graphics are some of the best on the system, ignore the screens you've seen this baby looks schweet on an SDTV. You can zoom the camera all the way in and its positively glowing. You even get this little fur suit and the snow particle effects are mesmerising. |

Oh yeah I had a problem when guiding your "friend" about. There was one point where it looked like there was a set of stone pinball buffers and I was endlessly searching around for a switch to open it. I changed seasons, tried all sorts of ways and nothing happened. Then I saved, turned off the machine.
When I turned it on later in the same area that barrier was gone and I could progress. Weird glitch. |

Finished it in 3:50 with all statues found. So together with the first one, I see this as 20€ for ~6 hours of pure platforming bliss. :D
Really good stuff. Haven't played a Boy and his Blob yet, but this probably is my platformer GOTY so far, ahead of Trine, Klonoa and Icarian. |

You know, I enjoyed the original for what it was but never had the desire to do a replay. It's just so linear and non-eventful, despite its beauty. I really hope the sequel can have a few more elements that might lead to some more game play.

I think I am stuck:
I am on that part where the statue is following you, and you reach in a very tall wall close to a door, but I can't make the staute go up... I tried to find another route, but the only possible route is using the mushrooms and the statue also don't float to reach the other mushroom. |

Downloaded the game a couple of hours ago. Love it.
I'm still pretty early playing the game but the icy graphics and reflection effect look really nice. Also, Toku's new winter outfit is sweet! Even early on there's way more enemies you encounter than probably in the entirety of the original game. :D |

Could be nice if the secret statue things weren't so leniently given away. I understand that you don't wanna waste a puzzle on them in a budgeted game, but some were put right in front of my face, and it took me just an extra 8 minutes to fetch what I didn't get on my normal playthrough (I could list them if you want).

Finished it yesterday in a single sitting, and I'm ready to play it again. The pacing felt a bit tighter to me than the first, and it was a really great follow-up, I think. My only complaint, really, is that defeating glorbs is still kind of a grey area. I would prefer to have a more defined way of defeating them, but they usually bounce around and end up becoming really annoying...especially during the end sequence. As clever as that final part was, the constant barrage of sticky glorbs started to piss me off. It seems to be at odds with the rest of the game, which can be so methodical and relaxing.

The only real issue I had with the game was the first stage of the final boss. Maybe I missed some cue or hint, but I spent a looong time jumping around not knowing what to do.
I do appreciate the more organic, hands-off approach in terms of tutorials and hints, but that section just left me with too many dots to connect. That said, I quite enjoyed the remainder of the fight once the mechanics had been established. |
