I don't get why Sony keeps stubbornly putting games on psn but only playable via psp. PSP games don't sell and they are just cutting off a HUGE buyer pool ( ps3 owners) for a game that IS ALREADY ON PSN.

They should stop that crap and start working on a real PS3 Loco Roco... that is so retarded... just port the damn PSP games in 1080p @ 60fps with a controller option to choose between L/R, L2/R2 or tilt/shake. What are they thinking? It would be the perfect PSN 10-15$ game.

Am I the only one that hates the fact that they sell PSP games on the PS3 but cant actually PLAY them on the damn machine. I would seriously buy so much shit if I can play these games on the PS3.

Would much rather play SFA3 Upper than the PSone version of Alpha 3. Why cant they just put Upper instead of Psone Alpha 3?

I would easily pay for a psp digital emulator for the PS3.

I recall lots of laughs when people first started proposing merging the PSP software platform into the PSN/PS3 platform.

I totally agree with you btw. And it disappointed me to see this was for PSP when I clicked on the thread. I'm used to my PSN threads being about PS3 playable games :| Maybe we need two threads or something. Ditto, Sony really needs to filter out PSP games into their own store on PSN. I'm tired of checking the store to see a bunch of PSP stuff mixed in with the stuff I can actually play. (And I have a PSP, but handheld gaming is just of limited utility to me).

Why would they go through all that effort for a $10-15 game when they're already recycling assets and doing minimal work for a $15 PSP game?

I'd love some LocoRoco on my PS3 as much as anyone, but honestly I'd much more prefer seeing Patapon on there, as the original game does not lend itself to portability at all, for me.

So long as my beloved LocoRoco stays alive I'm happy though <3

What's the #1 problem with the PSP? Software sales. What's the easiest way to fix that? Put a PSP emulator on PS3 and let PS3 owners buy games on the store. Would PSP still have value? Of course! It's portable silly, just because software works on both doesn't mean it will kill the PSP. See Gameboy Player and Super GameBoy for proof.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I am kind of new to this. If you buy something off the JP store, is it going to be in Japanese? Is there a option to have it be in english? In other words is this the same as importing the physical game?

The funny thing is... this sounds as if it doesn't make a damn bit of sense, but it really, really does. PSP sells extremely well despite the fact software sells are nearly non-existent. By this point, I really do fail to see the harm that could come of a PSP emulator on the PS3.

I don't know what people are buying their PSPs for, but it sure as hell doesn't seem to be software.

Nope. Slightly different kind of game, at least as far as that element is concerned, so with the exception of saving/loading the game, everything is handled with the shoulder buttons.

When did you guys get sales data for PSP games on PSN? ;)

Besides that, I figure Sony has their emulator development team busy on another project. Wink wink, nudge nudge.

yes, it would be in moon language and would cost you 1500 yen ($17?) but it would work.

I could never get past the fact that the Squal is a complete asshat so never got far into it, though Mrs Charlie assures me that he's not as bad in Japanese and the game is excellent, so hoping for a US release.

And yeah, starting to quickly backtrack from the previous "WHERE ARE THE GAMES SONY?!" as a consistant barrage of games like last week each update is going to be painful!

Even better! I love disassembling, but playing LR2, I thought they really could have done that with double tapping both triggers or something.

PSP has a lot of million of units, and software is still don't selling. The problem is the piracy. Almost anyone interested for PSP games has got a PSP in the last 4 years. The problem is that almost all of that people can play games for free.

Even if you make a PS3 emulator, you'll kill some hardware sells, but a lot of the PS3 userbase (or, at least, the PS3 userbase interested in PSP games) has already a PSP.

The only way to get software sales is to find the way that force the millions of people who piracy PSP games to buy them.
