http://members.quicknet.nl/lm.broers/hquest.htm

What the?...

-Ongoing development for years now
-Custom Editor and map making dealies
-Ton of extra player constructed campaigns
-Active community still doing various stuff...
-Free
-Graphical boardgame styled CRPG!

Freaking crazy.

I liked the board game. Not sure the PC game would do anything for me.

I thought this was going to be a thread about Hero's Quest/Quest For Glory from Sierra.

The guy can draw pretty well. He could probably pull off a comic or something.

Same. And I was all excited to talk about it. I'm not sure if I like Hero's Quest or Space Quest more but they're both pretty awesome.

I thought it will be about version made by Gremlin Interactive. It was fun game, and the sequel (Legacy of Sorasil) was even better.

I loved this board game so much and played it through and through, bought all the add-ons, etc. I played it so much that I even created an "Hero Quest 2" for myself with more moves, stats, co-op concepts, more complex economic system, wayyyyyyyyyyyy more items/weapons, new ennemis, etc.

I had alot of fun. I'm really tempted to try that PC game now.

"wander the self generating magic dungeon" <<< the Roguelike fan in me leapt up at this part...same as my salivating for the Infinite Dungeon in Torchlight.

Polk: Oh? Tell us some stories! I've never heard of either of what you mention...but good times are good time! Maybe something for a GoG wishlist!

It went
Hero Quest
Advance Hero Quest
Warhammer Quest

I think I had the first & third. They were good at the time, especially WHQ with the witch-hunter class and the noble swordfighter. I probably have them all still somewhere...

Wil check the game out, could do with a nice simple game for on my Windows 7 partition.

Here are the Amiga versions:

http://hol.abime.net/698 <- Hero Quest

http://hol.abime.net/700 <- Hero Quest II - Legacy of Sorasil

Great games, both of them.

Tis a start! Many thanks.

So, there's essentially...4 versions to this. The one site, then an Isometric version on the other, likewise a still coming along Top down view tied to it, then this Online dealie with a module for it and 2 expansion as well as 2 other games.

Isometric one is a ton bigger filesize wise....but why? I mean, graphical differences aside.

I feel like a kid in a candy store discovering this today! Maybe we can get a GAF league and mod set going for the online one at some point down the line?

Edit: Youtube failed me on Sorasil gameplay vids, but from what I could see of the first one a bit on each I take it Amiga version is superior in all aspects to PC and other misc systems I'm seeing listed on GameFAQs?
