Have you noticed that just about every 360 game has its own type of case? There are so many slight variations of the damn thing, Mircrosoft must make the companies get there own cases, or just keep switching it depending on what is the cheapest.

Plastic cases ruining the Earth, you say? I spend $60 fucking dollars for a game, which I proudly display on my shelf. I want a nice sturdy case, at the very least. And I'd also like a cardboard sleeve.
If you want to complain to someone about destroying the planet, go whine to Coca Cola, who does more damage every day than DVDs and games sold in a year. And those things get deposited straight into the trash. That is, if this really is some eco-friendly nonsense. If it's a cost-cutting procedure, it's even worse. |

My roommate got one of those cases with Brutal Legend. Makes the case awfully cheap feeling but I guess if it really does that much for the environment it's not a big deal. Thing is, in the same package he received two full, old style cases which only had Fallout DLC cards in them.

Wow. This is a new level of jaded bitching.
Guess what? Put the disc and booklet in and take another picture. Guess what: ITS EXACTLY THE SAME! Lighter cases = cheaper bulk shipping. Less plastic used means they can make more cases with the same amount of raw materials. That is by definition more eco-friendly. Yikes! Do you seriously not see that? Mystery solved. My copy of Brutal Legend is like this. I thought that EA was just trying to recoup as much as they could.
btw, just about eco-friendly plastic stuff, I'm drinking a bottle of water and they made the gap about half the size of normal. For the same price as before, I'm getting a thinner bottle with a smaller cap? The label says it cuts down on 20% of the plastic. I want that 20% of plastic I payed for, fuckdamnit. |

Other stuff changes in the cases, but this is the easiest to spot, and the biggest variation. The Center Ring:
![]() This is just taking a row of 15 normal 360 cases off my shelf, and this is already 5 variations of the holding ring for single disk games. The 'Arrow' design, the one in the bottom-middle, is the most common from what I am seeing though. And while I would have to get a scale to check, I think the cases are of different thicknesses and weights too. Who can name all 5 games! |
