So I was browsing through steam and realized that Outrun was no longer listed there. I recall Prey being removed recently due to the lack of keys, but did Sega ever gave an explanation as to why this game was removed? Really wanted to play it on the PC.

I bought it during the Winter sale only to see that the multiplayer was already down. Went to check the store page the next day and didn't see the game. I almost get the feeling that they sold the game without realizing that.

Yea, I don't see it either. Luckily I already had it bought and installed. I wonder what's going on.

I feel like such a sucker for not picking it up during the Winter Sale. Can you still reinstall the game through steam even if it's not listed there anymore?

I noticed this about a month ago. Luckily I have the disc version, but it's kind of mystifying.

I just tried searching for Prey on the Steam Store and indeed, it says "SOLD OUT". Kind of defeats the purpose of DD. :lol

I remember this happening with Unreal Tournament III during the Winter Sale of 08. Kind of weird how they still have to use keys for DD.

How is that weird? How else would the games function? With No CD-key? I doubt they would go through the trouble of modding a game just to make it even easier to pirate.

I probably should have rephrased that. I was thinking more along the lines of it being weird that they'd run out of CD-Keys.

Glad I picked this up on impulse during the winter sale.

Well now I'm really glad I picked this up during the Steam sale. At $2.50 it was way too good to pass up.

Some games have been delisted from sale on Steam, but people who already bought them can still download them.

Doesn't appear in the store here either (UK). Good thing I already own it, I guess.

I own it on Steam. It's even installed. But its removal is probably due to the lack of cdkeys, I believe it sold a lot during the Christmas sales ($2,50) and the rest of the keys were sold some time after the sale finished and SEGA hasn't bothered to resupply Steam with new keys.

Outrun is one of the worst deals I've stumbled upon. Not only it doesn't have multiplayer, which is a letdown. But you can't create a profile, so none of your single player scores gets recorded. The game is fun, but fun in the "I enjoy racing without caring about times".

The worst deal was Oddworld's. It's unplayable by today standards with such a shitty resolution. At least they could add a damn filter. Now, I spent 5€ between both, but those are 5€ I regret spending.

i agree about the Oddworlds. couldnt play them in that state. :(

are you sure about Outrun though? im pretty sure it saves your times and credits, etc.

It's been up for months. IIRC, they re-added it during SEGA week back in May or so.

I think there's a bug that erases your profile saved license data when you change controllers or soemthing so be careful.

Normal retail version didn't need any CD key :)
