Damn the PSP version is showing itself. Quite surprised how well its done being the first one (guess they got it very right quality-wise?). Now that Konami has seen that good pawapuro signals on PSP also applied to PYS, I wonder if they will finally try pawapuro on PS3. Still have to do the yearly comparison, bad month illness after illness, so sick (pun intended) of it :/

I think its somewhat news for this thread too but the new yearly Pawapuro has been announced for July 14th for PS3/PSP as Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2010.

A few points are interesting:
- They go back to the (PS/PS2) standard July releases broken in 2009 (March)
- They don't use the old numbering system (would be JPPB16) but the year, like last year PS2 version or like Pro Baseball Spirits started this year too
- Unlike Spirits, there's no PS2 version
- While Wii got normal branded in 2008 (JPPB15), its 2009 version was called NEXT and so far it hasn't been announced to return this year
- It marks the first PS3 Pawapuro but looks like the first main-brand PSP one too. PSP subseries was called Portable (Pawapota) and was the most successful entry on 2008 and 2009, so this announcement means that subseries is over or will PSP get Pawapota 5 near year-end?

Biohazard Umbrella Chronicles Best Price - 66,092

Didn't notice this was updated until now. The old number was 26,549. Strangely, the other Biohazard re-releases/Best Price releases haven't been updated.

This widens the disparity between Umbrella and Darkside even more. 339,883 vs. 121,592 so far.

Hmmm... Nier combined did about half of what the Drakengard games did in their first week. I guess this isn't going to be Square Enix's second ARPG pillar after all! :lol

well that okay, because according to Square Enix Nier's real task was to be huge in America. Nier and Front Mission Evolved. Those are why in 2010 Square Enix is going to be a worldwide company.

Unfortunately for Square Enix it seems that Nier couldn't chart in either the top 40 individual or combined UK software releases during its first week, which also happened to be one of the slowest weeks of the entire year. I can't imagine them having too much more luck in the U.S. However, they can take solace in the fact that they somehow managed to make a title that makes Prison Break: The Game look like a raging success.

Well, today was a nice day for game shopping. Joker 2 and SSFIV debuted. Joker 2 of course had tons of demand, and sales were smooth.

SSFIV also seems to be enjoying brisk sales, particularly for the collector's edition on both platforms. I wasn't in Japan last year for SFIV's release, but SSFIV should impress some people. If it can match the sales of the original, then I won't be totally surprised.

The fun continues tomorrow with MGSPW. That should have the biggest PR buzz, though I expect Joker 2 to be number one for the week.

Mmm, seems so having a 2nd look at it. RPG with adventure elements. Weird, looked like those obscure adventure titles, well it seems it is but it also has a RPG in it. Dunno what to think about its sales then.
