My buddy finished it last week and I hadn't talked to him until now.
He didn't want to chat about it until it had set in that it was over and all of that. Said that he was sad it was over, but wasn't sure what happened in the end. He thought that they died in the crash and perhaps the show took place on another plane of existence, or they just died. But he said he is starting it again to power through and re-experience it knowing what he does. Glad he liked it, though. I feel like a lot of people removed from the hype and the ancillary stuff (like blogs and theories online and whatnot) are enjoying it a lot now. I wouldnt trade my experience, though. |

I'd love a graphic novel or something covering the events leading up to Hugo and Ben's leadership, and what goes down after they bring back Walt.
Only problem is, I don't think there's anyone left to be an antagonist. |

Sucks that I ruined the S3 finale for myself years ago when I never thought I'd watch the show. I specifically remember watching the "We have to go back" scene on Youtube a long ass time ago. So I also knew about the flashforward thing.
It was still an awesome finale, what with all of the context behind it this time. On to S4! |

Yeah, I've started watching other critically acclaimed programs that people rave about eg. Breakng Bad, The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, Deadwood etc. They are good in their own way but I don't get the same thing out of them as I did with Lost.
I'd happily submit to a mind wipe so I can re-watch the show. |

My bro and I were talking about this today...
I said that one thing that would suck about that would be not having the experience of LOST-GAF and the podcasts (Jay and Jack and the official one). He watched it like a year after it finished so he just flew through it, said he liked that better. He's a complete idiot though. |

One of the best things about watching LOST as it was going on was experiencing it with the thread.
I remember one of the first times I checked out a Lost thread (I don't remember which board) was the episode when Michael shot Ana Lucia and Libby, and everyone was losing their shit. Especially since it was season 2 and people were starting to get frustrated with the dilly-dallying. |

Just started my third full re-watch of the series. The Pilot is one of the best ever. Can't believe it been two years since it ended almost.

It totally doesn't need it, but I'd probably watch another Lost series if ABC were desperate enough to make it. I wouldn't be surprised at them reviving in an attempt to bring back that kind of audience to the network. I don't think anything has succeded in doing that yet.

There would have to be at least one returning character so that at the end of the pilot they could say "here we go again" or better yet, Richard, who could say "I'm getting too old for this shit."

Long interview with Damon Lindelof on the ending, the purpose of the flashsideways, lack of answers, disappointment with the ending and more:

They mention it in the interview. Some of it's because during the credits, ABC threw up the image of the wreckage from the plane, still on the beach, with no one around. Some took it to mean that the plane crashed, everyone died.

It's hard to imagine that the 10 seconds of b-roll that plays during the credits overwrote people's memories of the writers--via Christian--directly explaining that everything happened, they hadn't been dead the whole time, etc...but apparently, it did for many people.
