It's a dead platform in Japan, always was, and likely always will be (despite Microsoft getting a bunch of Japan targeted exclusives early on). Improvement over the original Xbox though!

Speaking of dead platforms, less than 30,000 units until the PSP Go sells its initial shipment! Yay!

PS2 had 2 SKUs, neither passed 18 million.

GB+GBC had four SKUs (GB, GBP, GBL, GBC) totalling 30 million, not sure if any individual one passed 18 million.

Meh, I can't see it really taking off. Annoying part is because it's a peripheral we won't know how it's done beyond Sony PR and retailer feedback.

You can get a good sense through the bundles and software sales though.

Other fun news this week from the blog spectrum:

Monster hunter Diary still having supply problems: next shipment isn't till the 10th, amazon is sold out, reports popping up many major retailers sold out.
Retailers underestimated the game all around, what you guys think legs will look like?

Metroid M: Across the board pretty insignificant sales(and this is from stores that do well with hard-core gamers) unless there is some secret casual market for this that is buying it from major retailers, expect sales to be rather worse then xenoblade.

Metroid Other M...nothing else I can think of. GT5 isn't THAT big in Japan though, it won't have the same effect as FF13.
