That's like the best part, man.

From the start of the Inquisitor arc to the end of the introduction of the little witch was Berserk at its best, I think. Then the plot started going nowhere with the invasion.

A television commercial narrated by singer, actor, and well-known Berserk fan Gackt will promote the release of the 35th manga volume. Four versions of the commercial will run from Wednesday, September 29 to October 3. The official website will re-open after a revamp on Tuesday at about 9:30 a.m. with the television commercial and a separate, web-only commercial. In addition, an official Twitter account, "Berserk_project," has launched.

there were several cuts, but, if this is a TV show, modern Japanese TV anime is considerably less violent than it used to be... especially if it's going to air on TV Tokyo like the original did.

Oh, I thought you meant cutting out gore altogether and other stuff altogether.

But I mentioned on the last page that there were plenty of cuts, wisely.

Which is kind of a good thing IMO.

What they would gain in removing the cliffhanger ending they would lose in making just another generic shonen anime with gore and rape tacked on. I stopped reading a while after the little witch girl joined and you could practically see a power level reading over Guts' head.

To do this right, they need to start over from the beginning, and create a huge 100+ episode saga. There's just too much story to try to truncate it and cut out characters like they did in the first show.

Second, Berserk is all about the action. If they don't significantly increase the budget and make sure the animation is on point, they may as well not do it at all. The 97 series looks like shit--- the amount of still frame pans and off camera actions was laughable.

I would not mind them telling the story from the beginning again as long as they continue past where the original series left off. Probably not going to happen though.

That is when i stopped reading (I think maybe they were on a boat? Or was that before the guy possessed all those animals Either way, I got to about that spot of the manga.

Does it pick up again or Is it not worth reading? I really preferred it when each enemy was iconic and noteworthy in design (even if they were only existing to be cut down in 3 pages)... all of those similar designs ruined it for me as much as anything else.

Watch this be a single OVA with SD characters packaged with a volume of the manga.

I usually hate super-medieval fantasy stuff, but I ended up liking Berserk a lot more than I thought I would (Record of Lodoss War too, but that's another story). Hopefully they'll just pick up where the last anime left off.

So for anyone planning to get this, I'd say there's almost no reason to not get it. If one volume cost $14, you should pretty much be set with a dvd box at the cost of 2, maybe 3 manga volumes

I'm excited about this, yet sad. Sad because I know that Miura will probably put out like 8 chapters (too hopeful?) by the time the new anime series finishes.

If this series follows the manga (and doesn't have some filler ending and waits for chapters to continue it's plot) then I'll be bumping this thread in 15ish years.

Oh and for the hell of it Beast Within (DDL) This is one of the best Berserk fan videos ever and gives a good retrospective of the series.

This will be exciting. I would like to see it not worry about the previous anime and focus on an arc or two from the manga. I would like to see the Mozgus arc, or the Roshinu one. <3 Or where he gets the...gets the armor. <3

Or, considering how long it's been a whole project could have been shut down and another one started up!

If it is the same, then a few thing can be roughly guessed.
