Didn't fryzxzxzxz how do you spell it - say that COD3 was ported by 2 guys from the PS2 version? Then WaW was like 15 people and REFLEX was 25?

He said something like Activision had recognised the need for more resources or something.

From the previews it's insinuated that this is the first Wii COD built from the ground up? Yet suppossedly they had some troubles with the scale of environments. I want to see this game. REFLEX was pretty good.

Wouldn't make a difference even if you could. The problem with Tri's voip was the shitty codec not the Wiispeak hardware (which works fine for what it is).

Who knows what Activision is thinking... hard to read much into it. There was no Wii media for Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions until the last minute, and the Wii version of that turned out to be decent, so who knows?

WaW looking better now its back on my new SDTV, but ugh, game hasn't aged well. Very linear and frantic, smoke and grenades and screen shake. Worse than that, I went into an empty bunker to clear it out and grab some weapons. I walk out and magically 4 japanese appear in the empty bunker behind me and banzai attack me.

And, I'm playing on the easiest setting just to get through it, but I don't think this game even has different difficulty settings. I mean, WTF you can still get insta-killed by bayonets, grenades, bad guys running at you point blank and spraying you with bullets for 2 seconds. You might as well be playing on the hardest setting, there is no difference here. That's bad design. I prefer the russian campaign too.
As with MW, difficulty settings only affects the grenade spam.

Let's face it : CoD solo is the same shit since the first once, linear, boring with an awful storytelling. It's more like "run to the next invisible checkpoint while avoiding grenade and then wondering what you were suppose to do"

That's being said, the online multiplayer is cool.

Reflex. It's the complete vanilla CoD4 experience. All maps and multiplayer modes. W@W only has Free For All and Team Deathmatch..

I loved Reflex, and I'm buying this. Treyarch should be commended for the job they did porting the first one. I actually resent Goldeneye for holding back info on this game. Here's hoping there's no delay.

Reflex, the controls and visuals are all around better. Although WaW has more gravitas.

Single player, I thought that WaW was the better game. Reflex is pretty awesome multiplayer, though.

Hard to believe that we STILL don't have any information about the Wii version of the game. I guess companies just don't want their games to sell.

WaW is great. There is much more action onscreen compared to reflex and graphics aren't really that bad.
I consider it my fac WW2 shooter after MoH:Frontlines

I think this is a dead giveaway that Activision is using their own servers. Maybe you'll be able to talk and befriend random asshats with their headset option.

He's obviously talking about the Wi-Fi logo. Hint: It's black. If you are new to the Wii business: It's usually not black.

I don't think it has anything to do with using own solutions. EA used their own system as well but there was nothing indicating that on the logos as far as I remember. Probably just a placeholder.

i wouldn't read too much into the black logo most likely a style/design choice as a blue WiFi logo would stick out like a sore thumb, well at least the boxart exist Activision are allowing us to see that much.

The Wii version is being sold for $44 at Amazon.com at the moment. Here. Not sure how long this is going to last tough. I was thinking of holding off but at that price I couldn't pass it up. Actually it seems all standard console versions are priced lower then normal. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are at $54.44 instead of $60.

What does that matter for the Wii version? Outside of ADS, I didn't think that version had auto-aim online?

Does anyone know if the crossbow bolt will shoot into a wall, then explode a few seconds later, or is that just if you hit someone?

Also, any guesses on how long the cord for that headset will be?

I really enjoyed MWR online, beyond the occasional hackers. Really ready for a new toy chest to play with, though.

No scoping > quick scoping in the wii version of CoDs. From my experience. :) Using sniper rifles as semi-autos was very fun.

Maybe Activision is thinking that the bad screens hurt the sales, so now they go with no screens at all.
Or there is a bet going on, where they are testing how much CoD Wii can sell with no marketing at all.

Ah, but as long as they have the Wii logo at the end of the commercials they ARE marketing it. Really, I think it might be to focus on Goldeneye, and honestly, that's a good sign in this case, as there would be the chance for it to overshadow 007. I trust Treyarch to deliver, even if we won't see it until the game is actually released.

Dam. Every time I see this thread updated I always have that small bit of hope in my heart that there's new info. I leave disappointed every time! :(.
I'm actually sitting on the fence right now between the 360 and Wii version. I've preferred the Wii version two times in a row, but then again, there's no information about the Wii version yet.

Edit: Official Nintendo Magazine (UK) have an article up about this lack of information
Didn't know the same was true for World At War. I'm sure I remember deep down in my memory that there was a Wii specific TV ad for it? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yayy, my shitty memory was right about the Wii specific TV ad (horrible quality)

Furthermore, I think W@W had a video at the Nintendo E3 conference that year highlighting zapper usage.

Last year we didn't have video until people had the game (illegally). But we did at least have some interesting images and Fzyxywyzxyzyxsz answering questions.

No, it's not to focus on Goldeneye.

This is the third year and third release in a row where Activision have chosen to withhold pretty much all info on the title until release, and only to support it with a very halfhearted PR campaign.

I appreciate Activision making the effort to bring their big titles like CoD to Wii, but I can't see quite why they're refusing to publicise them in even the cheapest way (releasing screens, vids etc. to gaming sites who - let's be honest - will post any old shit to get clicks) unless it's to avoid "tainting" the HD versions...

This time it's about Goldeneye. If it weren't for that game, we'd probably have at least as much information as we did with WaW, which was plenty (a bit of gameplay, press hands on with a couple of corresponding videos, a clutch of screens), if it weren't for the fact that Goldeneye 007 is coming out right around the same time, a multiplayer focused FPS that incorporates ADS and a very wide scale IP with HUGE pressure to perform, competition would make anyone sweat. It's just that in this case, Activision's biggest competition on this game is Activision, so one way or the other, they're going to tone down the media attention to Black Ops, at least at first.
