580K for week 3? Monster Hunter to go over 4 million? Damn.

Also, looks like Wii will pass PS3 and PSP will surpass and keep the lead on DS for year end sales.

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.
Wow at Monster Hunter. I believe I was one of those who thought it would achieve the highest LTD of the series, but I didn't think it would be this insane.

After GT5's disaster, Castelvania is an another one.

Selling on par with DS versions while beeing a hell of a lot more expensive to make?

Yeah go back to the 2D versions if you want to keep that franchise alive

I don't think using a European date format is a wise idea.

This is a thread about Japanese sales, where YY/MM/DD is used. NeoGAF is technically an American forum, where MM/DD/YY is used. :p

No Umineko no Naku Koro ni PS3 Japan? You disappoint me. )<

Yeah umineko is a huge huge bomb. Higurashi did like 70k and they were expecting more out of umineko. I guess umineko just isn't that popular like higurashi was.

Plus maybe higurashi didn't release in one of the most crowded Japanese sales months in fore er.

Didn't FFXIII 360 release this week? Or am I mistaken?

Sad to see GT5 and Tales gone from the top 20, but at least GT5 has sold through its initial shipment (~500K according to Degenki IIRC).

Kirby +75% ! That's insane, even by Nintendo's holiday standards. Not the biggest bump ever in this period but still huge (and surprising).

And MHp3 is being, well, monstruous.

If a mod complains for the format I'll change it but most likely I'll use YY/MM/DD. I copy straight from my database.

Yeah, DKCR's got some nice legs there :D. Ni No Kuni, not so much though :(

Kirby and Pokemon B & W are back with a vengeance! Glad to see them climb back up.

Mario VS DK 4 is doing really well too! It's not to far off MVDK 2's Ltd now!

Wii Party and Mario Sports Mix are trucking along well too!

Shame about Castlevania but it was completely expected.

I asked it in the old thread, but I guess it's better here.

Assuming that DQIX is the biggest 3rd party seller ever, how big are the chances of MHp3 surpassing it? What's DQIX's LTD?

Edit: Nevermind, Kenka answered my question in the other thread.

I'd say use the japanese way if it's about Japan. Even if there are many americans here, the japanese way makes more sense for a thread about Japan.

Ouch at Castlevania....I thought this was still big in Japan but I guess not...27k?? really? wow...that surprises the hell out of me that it`s not more...

FF13 360 didn't even crack the top 20. I figured it would have at least done 20K. Guess not.

I don't really find that surprising. A year old port on a console that doesn't sell. I also think that word abut FF13 not being that great got around in Japan.

Here's a novel way of getting rid of tons of bad stock at once: http://item.rakuten.co.jp/outletplaza/40000085649/

Buy Ninokuni at 5229yen and get 4 other random DS games for free in a mystery bag deal! :lol

I'd probably go for that.

Japan doesn't like the god of war genre at all.

Why would someone buy something for 4000 yen when there is already for 1000 yen?
Good point. But there are always collectors out there and FFXIII for Xbox 360 (the japanese version) has exclusive content and there are probably someone who doesnt own a PS3.

:)

Wow, I just realized that the DS YTD last year was around 1.5 million ahead of the PSP's. That's pretty massive.

Good to see the PSP getting its time in the spotlight.

Wasnt there some in-games stuff too? Thought i read something about that FFXIII PS3 DLC was scrapped or something like that, but it made it to the japanese version of FFXIII instead.

Why would the Japanese way make sense in a pre-dominately NA forum?

Would it make sense for us all to type only in Japanese in this thread too?

Easy mode and the ability to view all cutscenes. But no real 'extra' content of any meaning.

Ah ok, i see. I thought that it was some extra in-game content that collectors might want to have. Thanks for the info! :)

God of war sold better in its first week than LoD will lifetime

People asked for a "console" Castelvania, the result has been subpar at best and the game wasn'T exactly good (I'll say that Castelvania Rebirth is better :p)

if by that you mean something like a theater mode then nope. They said easy mode is there so people that are stuck in the game get to see the story, that was it.

and oh Monster Hunter, Nintendo better money hat it as much as they possibly can :lol .

I'd say you are wrong. I really enjoyed the game and it was the best 3D Castlevania so far.

You know how Sony could probably sell the PSP2 in Japan? Announce the system with exclusive MH game. :lol

Only works if Capcom actually is up for. I still remember MH on PS3 lol
