Vanquish: 4 hours on Normal.

Don't make Richard Leadbetter (Digital Foundry) dedicate an entire article to how wrong you are.

Still can't believe such a comment ruffled his feathers so much.

I've beat Call of Pripyat recently. It took me 12 hours with almost all of the optional quests.

Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale 8.3 hours
Mass Effect 2 27.8 hours
Half-Life 2: Episode One 4.9 hours

MoH: 5h
Bioshock: 9h

Kane & Lynch 2: 5h
Portal: 4h
Torchlight: 10h (one charachter)
Trine: 5h
DoW2: 9h
Mass Effect: 14h

Until I get a little more time I will keep the list to NeoGAF but in the next couple days I will fill any not listed with those.

Can anyone confirm they can go to the new doc?

I can see it, but I see some errors. Gamers having a lower/higher average then the min/max values. Examples
(game - avg- min - max -#polls)
Dead Space 8.33333333333333 9 10 3

Only one user polled, but three different values in avg, min, max?
Crysis 6 - 7 - 8 - 1
Dantes Inferno 6 - 7 - 8 - 1

A lot of entries with only one user polled have this problem.

Don't know how easy it is to implement, but perhaps add median (and standard deviation)? This is good for open world games/games that allow for lots of exploration and side quests. Median will make it less biased towards entries with extremely long completion times/100% completion. It can give people better view of how much time the main quest will take. However you would need more data for it to be useful.

Crackdown 2: 12h (completed everything story related, captured all tactical locations, closed all freak breaches, completed every road race and was gambling around a bit)

Fallout 3 GotY: 110h (all dlc completed as well as many but not all missions/locations from the main game)

Mass Effect 2: 42h (all side quests, no dlc, a lot of scanning)

It just so happens that I recorded playtime for some of the DS games I finished last year for backloggery, they're all 1st playthroughs for me, and I just recorded until the credits rolled, so without extra bonus content.

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin - 9
Dragon Quest IV - 30
Dragon Quest V - 27
Last Window: The Secret of Cape West - 15
Pokemon Platinum - 28
Suikoden Tierkreis - 29

OK I fixed what I saw was wrong. Some of it was because the low and top ends weren't entered in so when it was averaging what I tallied it looked lower than the lowest.

I have an average script set in place now so that every time a new person chimes in I just add them to the string to average it out.

Platinum Trophy: Learned to Shit While Upright Again.
Castlevania Lords of Shadow - 10+ (if on easy/normal)/20+ on (Hard/Paladin), with everything (challenges, stuff, etc.) ie 1000/1000 or Platinum, 30-35 hours

Platinum, for me
Game Completetion: 110.00%
Total play time: 35:37:00

OP, great idea for a thread. I'm usually like 10% slower than the average time (I like taking in everything) so this will help me rule out some 60+ hour games.

Just finished Resident Evil 5...11 Hours

going through my backloggery and listing off some games and how long I noted:

Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts - 22 Hours
Blue Dragon - 40 hours
Call of Duty 2 - 8 hours
Call of Duty 3 - 7 hours
Call of Duty 4 - 5.5 Hours
Crackdown - 22 hours
Dead Rising - 7 Hours
Gears of War - 6 Hours
Gears of War 2 - 7 hours
Grand Theft Auto 4 - 27 Hours
Halo 3 - 8.5 hours
Halo Reach - 9 hours
Kameo - 11 Hours
Mass Effect - 15 Hours
Mass Effect 2 - 24 Hours
Saint's Row - 25 Hours
Saint's Row 2 - 31 Hours
Super Paper Mario - 22 Hours
Super Mario Galaxy - 25 hours

This is a great idea for a thread. I always wonder this about games.

We should always specify whether the completion time includes "doing few to no side quests", "doing a large amount of side quests but not the crazy hard ones", "total 100% completion".

For instance, i finished Mass Effect without any sidequest besides the two important ones, and I don't think it took me more than 8 hours (though I might be misremembering).

Cool, cool. I'll list the 2 most recent for me.

Dead Space 2- 11 hours on normal

LittleBigPlanet 2- Er, first time through the single player might have been 5 or 6 hours? Wasn't that long. Bear in mind that doesn't include community stuff, create mode, or trying to ace any of the levels. I did SP first all the way through.

I've tried to separate games that I played once through the campaign without achievement hunting, from those that I spent ages on trying to do extra things. Most are 100% accurate, but some I played offline and before Raptr started counting. These numbers count one play through only. I've excluded Guitar Hero games because that would skew the numbers too much if I say I've spent 200h+ on GHII. Also excluded are games I played online for any notable length of time.

I'll look through some other games and see if I can work out how much time I put into them then put those in a second post so they aren't missed. How do we count open ended games like Pokémon? The numbers I have (100+) are indicative of how much time I wanted to spend on them, not how long it took me to complete the main game.

GTAIV is listed twice because one is a 100% completion, the other is a speed run.

Completed majority of the game, incl all DLC unless otherwise stated
Alan Wake - 31h
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood - 36h
Banjo-Kazooie - 8h
Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts - 96h
Borderlands - 57h (No DLC)
Elder Scrolls Oblivion - 180h
Fallout 3 - 123h (No DLC)
Grand Theft Auto IV - 102h
Shadow Complex - 33h
VVVVVV - 7h

Completed - little time spent on extra bits, no DLC
Alpha Protocol - 19h
Bad Company 2 - 9h
Batman Arkham Asylum - 12h
Call of Duty: World at War - 10h
Crackdown 2 - 17h
Dark Sector - 10h
Dark Void - 16h
Dead to Rights: Retribution - 9h
Grand Theft Auto IV: 15h
Limbo - 4h
Mafia II - 18h
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands - 19h
Red Faction Geurrilla - 22h
Singularity - 14h
Splinter Cell Conviction - 17h
Wet - 11

Ys: Oath in Felgana - 15 hours with grinding on hard
Yakuza 2: 20-25 with some side quests. 25-30 for all side quests.
FEAR: 8-10 hours on hardest difficulty
And Yet It Moves: 3 hours.
Ben There, Dan That!: 4.2 hours. Less if puzzles click with you fast enough, more if you get really stuck.
Cryostasis: 7-8 hours. It would of probably been 6-7 if it wasn't for the CTD's I had.
Darksiders: Minimum exploration. Going straight to the next event. 16-17 hours.
Psychonauts 13-14 hours. 15 for 100%

Steve, the dog with no powers that we let hang out with us all for some reason
From those who I remember:

Ace Attorney series is about 7-9 hours each one, may vary depending on solving some puzzles.
Last Window (Hotel Dusk 2) is about 8-10 hours.
Policenauts is about 7-9 hours, maybe 10 if you examine everything (and everyone)
VVVVVV is about 3 hours to complete the game, but getting 100% is about 2 additional hours.
Metal Gear Solid 2 is about 11 hours.
Snatcher is about 6 hours. Maybe less.
Chrono Trigger is about 20 hours.
