Bioshock - 18 hours
Gears of War 2 - 12 hours
Halo 1 - 9 hours
Halo 2 - 8 hours
Halo 3 - 13 hours
Halo 3: ODST - 8 hours
Halo Reach - 14 hours
Alan Wake - 8 hours
Mass Effect - 19 hours on playthrough 1
Mass Effect - 21 hours on playthrough 2 (more sidequests but encounters were easier)
Bubsy 3D - 4561 hours and counting

I may or may not have pulled some of these numbers out of my ass but these are the games I've finished in the last 6 months or so...so I'm fairly confident they are close. One that stood out to me for it's length is Bioshock...it was much longer than I expected (maybe too long)...I was
bio
shocked when I saw my save time. durhur

Here are the only ones I could gleen quickly from the save files on my 360:

Enchanted Arms (1000 gamerscore) - 21 hours
Divinity 2 (1000 gamerscore) - 22.5 hours
Risen (1000 gamerscore) - 23 hours
Mass Effect (1000 gamerscore) - 2 chars at ~24 hours each for 48 hours total
Oblivion (1250 gamerscore) - 80 hours
Lost Odyssey (1100 gamerscore) - 93 hours
Blue Dragon (905 gamerscore) - 103 hours (only achievements I'm missing are button mashing ones which wouldn't add any more time if I had any skill)

I have a few more rpgs with complete gamerscore, Borderlands, Record of Agarest War, DA Origins, PSU, etc that I will see if I can get the game time by loading up the most recent save when I get a chance.

Awesome idea, I was just thinking about how it would be great to have a website that automatically calculated averages based on user input.

You have some mistakes in the google doc -- a bunch of games have the avg./min numbers reversed (or the calculation is just wrong, not sure if you did this by hand):

Nox
Overlord
Persona
Mario Galaxy 2
Sonic Colors
Zeno Clash

and probably more. But great work so far, keep it up! Bookmarked!

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood - 9 hours
Assassins' Creed II - 22 hours
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - 7 hours
Demon's Souls - 44 hours
Dragon Age Origins - 22 hours
Final Fantasy XIII - 48 hours
Mass Effect 2 - 19 hours
Red Dead Redemption - 19 hours

Great idea for a thread! I love knowing how long a game will take me, so I can pace myself accordingly:

Ys: Oath in Felghana 10 hours
Ys 7 25 hours

This is helpful, thanks. I think Oath will be the next game I played. I really liked Ys 7 but it did go on a bit too long. My playtime was roughly around that too.

I like this thread idea.

I honestly thought the three question marks in the thread title were censoring the word 'Off'. Came into this thread expecting something else. :p

Great thread. I normally google for these answers. LOL

Amnesia - 10.4 hrs
Ben There Dan That - 13.6 hrs (got stuck ALOT lol)
Borderlands - 45.6 hrs
Fallout New Vegas - 44.6 hrs (did some side quests too)
Mass Effect - 20.6 hrs (some side quests)
Stalker: COP - 31.5 hrs (good amount of side quests and exploration)
Star Wars: KOTOR - 53.8 hrs but more like 45 hrs since I left it on for like 8 hrs without play (most side quests as well).

Updated spreed sheet to this post, also did some formatting. I will be updating the spread sheet without posting new posts. Just look at the OP to see how far I have updated to.

I must be really slow, well, especially in terms of RPGs. All these times for one playthrough:

Fallout: New Vegas - 130 hours
Fallout 3 - 175 hours (with DLC)
Oblivion - 203 hours (and counting, I've still got more to do on my latest playthrough)

Awesome thread, been looking for a list like this! Will help me decide what game to start next since I prefer shorter games since I will be more likely to finish them.

Some times I can add to the list thanks to Steam:

Modern Warfare 2 8 hrs

FEAR 2 11 hrs

Black Ops 7.5 hrs

Amnesia 8 hrs

Mafia II 13 hrs

Residen Evil 5 10 hrs (2nd playthrough though, first was on 360 and longer)

These are all games that I have beaten, and whose times have been primarily spent in the single player mode:
First, going by times Steam tells me:
  • And Yet It Moves - 2 hours
  • Braid - 6 hours
  • Fortix - 4 hours, but I've played it twice, so 2 hours
  • Half-Life 2 and the Episodes I've all played multiple times, so I can't say how much time each playthrough took. Same thing with Portal.
  • Machinarium - 3 hours
  • Zen Bound 2 - 5 hours (not quite at 100% though)
  • Caster - 1 hour (technically it says 78 minutes but I'm keeping the units consistent) (I've only played one of the level packs though - I don't know if you have to beat the second one to consider it "beaten")
  • Puzzle Agent - 2 hours
Times Nintendo Channel tells me:
  • Metroid Prime Trilogy - 99 hours 25 minutes (can't remember how each of the individual games break down)
  • Super Mario Galaxy - 73 hours 8 minutes, although that's including a Luigi playthrough, so let's round down and divide by 2 to get 35 hours for 120 stars.
  • The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time: 65 hours 11 minutes
  • de Blob - 27 hours 29 minutes
  • Wario Land: Shake It! - 10 hours 25 minutes
  • Red Steel 2 - 9 hours 12 minutes
  • LostWinds - 4 hours 48 minutes
  • And Yet It Moves - 2 hours 6 minutes (agrees with Steam time)
Times told by the games themselves:
  • Picross 3D - well I've spent about 59 hours on it so far, I don't have gold on everything yet, but some of that time was spent on DLC, so I think that cancels out with the time I could have spent getting gold on everything...
Games I remember having timers that I still need to check:
  • Super Smash Bros. Brawl's Subspace Emissary mode
  • Chrono Trigger
  • I should probably just check all my DS games actually...

Are you estimating, or does Picross 3D have a time clock somewhere?

Just posting a number isn't very valuable. Someone posted 43 hours for Twilight Princess but that doesn't mean anything. Did he get all the hearts? Do every sidequest?

Twilight Princess: 20 hours (main quest done, only a few sidequests, ~50-70% of heart pieces, only a few poes found).
Chrono Trigger: 25 hours (all sidequests completed, "perfect" ending)
[PROTOTYPE]: 12 hours (main game completed, ~20% of bonus challenges completed, ~40 of hidden orbs found)

999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors - 8 hours for (first playthrough - reading everything), 30 hours (all 6 endings - fast forwarding through stuff I had already seen).
New Super Mario Bros Wii - 10 hours (just beat the game, no extras)
Call of Duty: MW2 - 5 hours (Story only, no intel pieces picked up)

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II: 5 hours on Medium iirc. Without all light saber shards and hidden stuff.

I have a few recorded down through Ratpr. Booking this also for future references

Fable III (360), 9 Hours. Basically I chugged through the main story line with a few extra side quests. Normal difficulty

Halo Reach (360) 8 Hours. Single player run through on Legendary.

Nier (360), 24 Hours. This was a full playthrough, all major Side Quests done with best weapons found and all 4 endings Achieved. Normal difficulty

Crackdown 2 (360)
9 Hours. Single player run through with side achievements. Normal difficulty

Tomb Raider Underworld (360) 8 Hours. Single Player run through on Hard

Medal of Honor (360) 4 Hours. Singe Player run through on Hard. It was probably more like 3 hours, but I encountered many bugs(Two that required me to restart) along the way.

Toy Soldier (XBLA)
6 Hours, play through of standard Single Player on normal difficulty

Bad Company 2 (360) 4 hours. Single Player on hard

Trine PC 6 Hours. Singe Player, Normal

VVVVVV - 2.5 hours
Mega Man 9 - 2.5 hours (1 hour on subsequent playthroughs)
Vanquish - 5.5 hours
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West - 10 hours
And Yet It Moves - 2 hours
Killzone 2 - 6.5 hours

I dunno, I think "speed run" times sorta goes against the spirit of this thread, which is to give people who've never played a game an idea of what they're in for. It'd probably be more helpful to post your first playthrough times to give a more realistic idea of what the average player will encounter, imo.

Just finished Vanquish. The time on the in-game clock said 4 hours, 58 seconds.

I'm pretty sure the game's clock doesn't count cutscenes though - since it felt like it took a lot longer than 4 hours to beat. The game has cutscene diarrhea, so I wouldn't be surprised if the total time spent to get through the campaign was closer to 7-8 hours.
