There is a small error in the 360 numbers. The LTD should be 50.8 million.
Looking at the MSFT Q2 thread the error is in FY 2008/2009. It adds up to 11.1 and not 11.2. Unless there is some rounding going on, then you should just ignore this post.

It's too bad there's no way to cash in with software on all of those new PS2's.

Are those LTD numbers right? PS2 over 150 million, PSP over 70 million (what a failure!). And again, PS2 won't die.

PSP had people interested for 3 years before a sharp drop. Software sales are failed. Total hardware units sold might be the best handheld results not from Nintendo, but is it really a success? Do people want a console experience? Sony should remember this for NGP which looks ominously like PSP round 2....

Parmenides you always mix unit sales with production shipments even though we have actual unit sales LTDs through various PRs from Sony.
Unit sales LTD: PS3: 47.9m PSP: 67.8m PS2: 149.7m Software LTD: PS3: 408.2m PSP: 287.7m PS2: >1526m

Woow im impressed, i actually thought 360 would outsell it in dec and nov because of kinect and how well 360 sold in the states, but i guess playstation is bigger in japan and europe.
Man i can see them beating that 15 million if they come with a price cut and show all of the games in ads they have coming out this year. I mean sony has a like a big exclusive every month, april even has 2 i think socom and motorstorm. Man i hope playstation stays big in europe. EDIT: are there actual numbers how much sony makes on every ps2 sold, cuz i think thats like how they make most of their money right now, 6 million consoles with profit, and i think the psp is selling at a profit as well right? |
