Well, most people said they enjoyed it when they saw the trailer on the big screen, so with some polish and right timing, it shouldn't be too bad. I doubt it'll encompass a decent part of the movie either way.

Is there a new trailer coming out today or anytime soon? I was hoping for something during the super bowl, but no dice.

Even better example was the Incredible Hulk movie. All the origin stuff was shown during the opening sequences.

From reading the wiki description it seems like the origin is an essential part of the first film and not just obligatory.

According to his Twitter feed Dave Poland REALLY liked it. I'm interested to her the feedback from this event but I'm not sure of it's really going to be 'converting' anyone who wasn't already committed to being there opening day.
Sounds like Webb has done something interesting though. So that already makes it more interesting to me. |

edit: Spiderman will be given a choice, he can either save Gwen who is on 257 Pokemon Street or go for his Uncle who is behind the McDonalds on 5th Ave. Spidey decides to save his Uncle but they were switced the whole time so Gwen lives.

I don't think they would kill Gwen in the first movie maybe the second or third one.

...., I have a feeling that Emma Stone didn't sign a multi film deal like Garfield and the 'others' would have. I always assumed this was a 'one shot' deal for her. |

“The Amazing Spiderman trailer (in 3D) and additional footage, shown at a live worldwide event today is SPECTACULAR. Nolan has a rival in Webb.”

Emma Stone is kinda too big a star to be locked into a Spider-Man trilogy. She can pretty much have her pick of projects nowadays, she's probably the hottest young female actress in the business.
However, I'm sure she'd be willing to come back for more movies on an individual basis if the price is right and her role is big enough. |

Now if Webb really wants to challenge Nolan he'll replace Stone in the sequel with Droopy.
Not in the least surprised about the super positive inpressions. This film simply has too much going for it to end up being Marvel mediocre.

I guess I'll reserve my final thoughts until seeing the trailer myself, but this movie and Dark Knight Rises strike me as polar opposites. Nolan seems to be deliberately making a more adult-oriented film while Webb seems to be targeting a younger (like 8-12 younger) sort of audience. But, again, I'll wait for more footage.

And the overhyping begins. I will be surprised if its even half as good as one of the first two X-Men flicks, let alone the Batman flicks.

I would be impressed if they throw expectations for a loop and have Uncle Ben kill Gwen Stacy.

You should rewatch X-men 1, that movie is pretty mediocre. I'd be surprised if Webb didn't churn out something considerably superior to that.

As far as superhero/comic book directors go, I'd say for me right now it goes Nolan > Singer > Raimi.

Stone is signed on for three Spider-Man movies. Aside from the fact that this is part and parcel of every movie contract now, she herself said it on Leno when she was promoting Easy A or something.

It's hard to compare given that all three movie series couldn't possibly have been any different in tone and intent. I will say though that Raimi's action sequences (especially in 2) danced circles around the other two guys.
