I dont know about you guys, but I enjoyed seeing lil' spidey crawl his way up out of the car. If he were of a different ethnicity I'd say we'd have our Miles Morales people!

Hey look, another opportunity for Spidy to unmask. And yeah, that CG looked very shitty. Hopefully it is unfinished.

New footage is fine, but mixing it into the old trailer was shitty. They should've just released it like a clip or something.. but I liked the footage.

Not really. Why would Gwenn be looking up? I'm sure she's staring at Spider-Man, it'd make little sense for Peter not to be at Ben's funeral. It's probably her dad. But who knows, could be either at this point.

That's some bad cg. I really hope that scene with the kid crawling out of the car doesn't make it into the movie. It seems like it was filmed for a music video rather than a movie. Is Chad Kroeger planning a come back?

i like how it says "in 3D" on the bottom of the promo poster as though that were an asset or something.

Well it probably IS in the eyes of some(mainly the producers which will rake in the cash i guess) :(

PS: if this is actually SHOT in 3D i will be slightly less annoyed but still hope for a 2D version to be available this time (there wasn't for Avengers here so not holding my breath)

CG looks like crap, action looks bland, the glowing red light when he shoots a web is just toy material, and he just took out his mask like it wasn't shit to do with him. Also the kid shit was just embarrassing.

Terrible.

Maybe the eye patches aren't translucent and he has to take his mask off before doing anything to get an idea of where he's going.

I have a feeling this movie will turn out good, but I'll be fucked if Sony doesn't find new ways to make it look worse every time they show it.

Sculli's right. Peter unmasking with that kid feels like pandering trash, and the cgi on those cars looks completely botched, assuming of course that it's finished.

I agree. I think the movie will end up being an all around good movie, if people can look past the reboot stuff and new 'edge' to it.. if the Conners thing is any indication, this will be a good human movie. /irony

Seriously. That scene is in no way out of character for Peter, I thought it was great. I'm glad the movie seems to be focusing on Peter's more compassionate qualities, it's what makes him so likable, and is what makes you feel bad for his shitty life.

I'm really surprised at how many of you think the movie looks terrible. I think it looks like it will be up to par with Raimi's first two films, which will be magnificent. I've waited far too long for another good Spidey film

I dont know if this has been posted but there are rumblings that Sony Execs are not too fond of the Amazing Spider-man

http://badassdigest.com/2012/04/26/t...er-man-sequel/

Quote:
I'm back from Vegas! All that travel means I'm a bit behind on some news, so while this happened yesterday I wanted to bring it up today...

Sony is looking at The Amazing Spider-Man as an investment. I've heard some really mixed things about the movie - much of which originates from INSIDE Sony - but no matter how the film does (unless the film is an unmitigated disaster, and that won't happen with a property like this), they're coming back for a sequel. Sony is so sure of the sequel that they've hired Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman to write it.

Note that hiring writers to work on sequels before a movie is released is common, and not always a guarantee of that sequel going anywhere. But Kurtzman and Orci are Big Deal Writers, since their movies - despite rarely being any good - have made a lot of money. I imagine their quote is pretty high, so Sony went ahead and dumped a bunch of cash on Spider-Man 2 because they fully intend to get that movie made. And they're hiring Orci and Kurtzman because they want Spider-Man 2 to be as straight down the center as possible - you're not hiring these guys to bring you a nuanced look at anything.

We'll see if The Amazing Spider-Man is as troubled as I've heard (the stories that come to me are that the execs hate it, and you can never tell when the execs are right or when they're stupid, stupid suits). This hiring could be the sign of a major change in direction for the franchise. If you follow Orci's twitter you'll wonder if Spidey will finally investigate 9/11 as an inside job.

My thoughts are that we're seeing all of the shots of Peter unmasking in the trailers so that the general public knows who is behind the character. I'm hoping that aside from these odd moments like saving kids from burning cars, beating up a SWAT team, etc that the mask will stay on.

Speaking of which, this is something I really liked about the Nolan Batman movies. He never takes off his mask in public. Ever.

So has there been anything cohesive about why the studio don't seem to like this?

Is it because it's a bad movie, or is it because it's not a blockbuster like Avengers? :/

Well obviously Norman Osborn has SOME role in this, since the movie literally revolves around Oscorp (is company) and how is father used to work there. I expect Osborn will make a cliffhanger appearance.

They are re-writing a script from one of the original writers of this so who knows, maybe they won't completely fuck it up.

That's about right.

They are being weirdly coy about it considering OSCORP is plastered everywhere in the footage released so far.

Yeah, I'm guessing he is going to have a Nick Fury like role in this in order to set the stage for the sequel.

It certainly is odd... I'm guessing they're going to go the 616 route of his parents being spies or activists of some sort, but instead of being tied to SHIELD (like in the comics) it'll be to Oscorp/Osborn. I can already picture them revealing Osborn behind the death of his parents and having this whole fiasco a sort of test for him to see how 'evolved' Parker has become before trying to replicate it on himself, leading of course to GG.
