Not bad for a racing game i'd say, considering the numbers made by the competitors.

Deserved.

Shipped to retail right?

Unless they've somehow sold 5 million copies in Europe. Cause it sold meh numbers in Japan and the US.

I haven't been following, so update me. The most important thing for the future isn't how much it sold but how it changed its reputation. Anyone can hold on a massive series and get sales. Did this create a desire for 6 in fans? Did it bring in new fans?

The actual sell-through of the 6.3 million I'd expect to be quite high.

They sold through their first shipment in Japan, they probably went to their second shipment in America at the start of Feb sometime, and Europe, well, Europe loves GT.

EDIT: Oh reading fail, now I see those numbers were as of December. Still, by now, I'd imagine they're not far off 6.3m.

3,97 million copies in Europe. 830k copies in Asia (including Japan). 1,58 million copies in NA.

Edit: Oh, wait, I misread your post. Carry on.

So here's what I have for additional shipped units since the 5.52 million number was announced in December.

Japan - 50k
North America - 330k
Europe - 410k
Asia - 70k

Fuck off mate.

I asked if these are shipped to retail numbers. Because those numbers don't look like sell-through if MC and NPD are taken into account.

Bomba-licious because it didn't do good in NPD. Total failure. Expected it to do bettter. Once again, armchair analysts proven wrong due to making assumptions based off of an extreme lack of information. NPD is near useless since we only get top 10 numbers and nothing outside of that, and yet people continually make the mistake of proclaiming a franchise's death over such a lack of information. Onwards to GT6 then.

In its first two months (Nov. + Dec.) it sold close to 1 million units in the United States alone. These shipments numbers don't seem out of line.

It sold about 1 mil in the US, the game has tons of copies on shelves so obviously that's not 5 mil just for Europe. I'm pretty sure it's shipped numbers despite saying "sold"

Well deserved.

And to the "shipped/sold/retail/bundles" crowd - when Kaz says "sold" he of course means that he has bought 6.37 million copies himself. Nobody plays GT5. Bomba. NPD clearly shows that the only country in the world hasn't bought all those copies.

lol
