I haven't been paying attention to Alice at all. Is it really good?

I'm loving it. Some of the levels get a bit long, but it's a beautiful game with ludicrous amounts of atmosphere, some fairly serious platforming, and combat that requires you to pay attention and not mash buttons.

I've only taken three screenshots for some reason, but here's my favorite of them (ignoring the ant lady) :P

I'm enjoying it so far. It's a bit more about atmosphere than gameplay. It's not that I don't enjoy the gameplay, I think it's really solid and good, it's just that I can see someone not thinking it's enough.

The most similar game I can think of that I played recently is Darksiders. I do think the combat feels nicer than Darksiders did. The dodging is more immediate, wheras in DS you actually had to get out of the way. I also feel like the camera is nicer than in DS. Alice is much more platforming focused, and doesn't have nearly as much Zelda trappings as DS.

It just looks amazing. I got the weird EA pack thing on origin, and was flabbergasted at the amount of details on the costumes. One version of Alice has rotating gears for eyes that you can see during gameplay. It kinda blew me away.

Is spy Lyra fanon now? 'Cause that's awesome.

Spy Lyra is something that seemed obvious to me before I learned of the fanon. When I looked her up, all I found in regards to her stalking of Twilight was an occasional dismissive footnote. The fanon seemed infinitely more concerned with her sexual orientation.

I think spy Lyra should be part of any good Celestia-based speculation. Twilight is easily Celestia's biggest asset in 1000 years. Regardless of Twilight's absolute loyalty and obedience and daily reports, you have to put a spy on something that important.

Lyra's personal life and sexual orientation have no bearing on my belief that she's a spy. Anything the fanon says about her employment or reasons for travel is part of a cover story.
