Heh, looking forward to it.

Actually, the thing I've been stuck on more than anything is what color I should assign to 3DS. By trying to give most systems colors that are associated with them in some way, there are already a load of blues and blacks to get it mixed up with. Thinking of just tossing it a Pac-Man yellow or Mario red.

There's always aqua/turquoise ;)

But yeah the system theme color is actually RED.

That is a good point, and a better reason than "just because". No color conflicts, either--looks like the reddest thing so far is Dreamcast orange.

07. / 00. [PS3] No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise (Marvelous Entertainment) - 15.763 / NEW

I'm assuming this is because Famitsu and Media-create included the premium edition?(which Dengeki really should have also considering it was just an extra 1000yen for some bonus material if I remember correctly)

No, that's why I'm not the one doing these threads. =P

I think people stopped caring about Dengeki because they used to publish a top 50, then a top 30, then almost nothing (with numbers), while Famitsu still had their top 30. Which reminds us how sad it is NPD has no competition.

PSP2i sell-through is interesting, certainly Sega, retailers and arm-chair analysts here were expecting a bigger debut.

Phantasy Star Portable 2 - 287k (76.48%)
Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity - 207k (56.55%)

Basically ~375k shipped for the former and ~366k for the latter. PSP2 went on to 600k though (twice 1st week) so if PSP2i follows that it'd clear its shipment.

Then again demand being lower this time and possibly being more front-loaded could mean some discounts soon if stock doesn't move briskly in the upcoming weeks.

Dengeki info and discrepancies...

Separated Nintendogs numbers:
Shiba - 31,153
Toy Poodle - 25,800
French bulldog - not in top20
If we were to assume MC total numbers for Nintendogs as the same for Dengeki, French bulldog would be only 7k.

PSP SD Gundam G Generation World - 235,978
Above PSP2i (208k) like Famitsu unlike Media Create, thus I'd like to see where does Famitsu put it, 193k vs 236k right now.

The tie-ratio of the 3DS's first week was pretty much 1, which is on line with the launch weeks of most other consoles.

At this point it's really time that you stop your annoying game; you are just fighting for attention.

It sells close to 10,000 copies. YEAH EASY MONEY!.

Another point:

Wada mentioned in his latest interview "middle class games don't sell"! The reason square-enix has so many unhappy problems this year was the targeting of middle class games (I think possibly perhaps his problem lies more-in with considering Mindjack to be a middle class game).

How do you explain this middle class no longer exists when we see the sales of all these middle class rpgs in japan doing in the 100-200K range?

I think Famitsu didn't track NGPC separately. At least, whatever sources I used for hardware numbers that far back didn't differentiate it. The week of NGPC launch causes the NGP number to blip from 294 to 18,809.

NGP was already selling at 3 digit numbers. After NGPC came out I doubt NGP sold more than 2-3 thousands units, if it sold that many.

OK, guys, here is some welcome information. You know I have sometimes gone for extended periods without keeping Garaph up to date. Not that this leaves you in the dark with people like Chris1964 around, but still it is not the best. However, I have started to make it so that the site won't wait for me. I've now got it set so that at least within the hour of the Media Create site updating, the numbers should be in the Garaph database. Famitsu hardware and software pie numbers will probably soon follow. The Famitsu software stuff I won't do this way for now, because trying to have it handle new game entries by using some sort of machine translation or just using something like UNKNOWN ENGLISH NAME 142 temporarily would be more trouble than it's worth.

Of course, whenever the MC or Famitsu site layout changes things will break and it might input gibberish.

I was trying to get this done yesterday so it would be ready for "3DS tracking launch", but didn't quite get it.

I KNEW IT!
Farnham's posts never improved because he never actually started taking his medications.
A proper intervention is his last hope, Obi Wan.

It begins.

First stock markets, and now Sales-Age!

you sure can compare the sales of a game and the performance of a progamer

that aside
dude nintendogs sold 20 million copies world wide and over a million of those came from japan

granted layton was a million seller series as well but a launch nintendo title getting outsold by a thirdparty game is pretty much unheard of and pretty crushing for nintendogs

if the game underperforms in europe then it will be pretty alarming for nintendo as nintendogs became a bigger game for them then zelda or metroid or the likes

in comparison (if that is even possible)

slayers boxer is currently in code S, went to RO4 in the open season 2 and is ranked among the TOP 20 in the korean ladder. compare that to his results in OSL or MSL the last 2 to 3 years. yeah its actually an improvement.

Boxer adapted to SC2 well, but what he has achieved is still nothing compared to his prime years.

Also, you need to learn something bout tie-ratio.

Well hell yes Nintendo was ending up on top when Nintendo was releasing 2 or 3 major games at launch versus the third party phenomenas of Super Swing Golf, Mr. Driller Drill Spirits, or Super Monkey Ball.
