My favorite modern NASA photo:
![]() Halls Gap in Australia: ![]() Prince Rupert, BC: ![]() This small boat in the foreground, Kazu Maru, belonged to Japanese fisherman Kazukio Sakamoto. One morning in 1985 Sakamoto-san headed out for a day of fishing and was never heard from again. A year-and-a-half later Kazu Maru was found adrift off the Queen Charlotte Islands and was towed into Prince Rupert, British Columbia. Kazu Maru has since been lovingly restored and is displayed in this Shinto shrine in Mariner's Park as a reminder of those lost at sea. In stark contrast to the small, handbuilt wooden Kazu Maru, just getting enveloped in the fog, is one of the first Norwegian Cruise Lines cruise ships to have stopped at the newly constructed (in 2004, when the photograph was taken) Cruise Ship Terminal just adjacent to the park. |

Great thread. I don't have any good pics on me atm, but http://ffffound.com/ is a great resource for finding cool pics.
