Most things released before June 2008 you've gone past the date (they extend it for large sellers but don't really make it clear when this happens or not and of course games pre-expiration rules; I think it is 14 character pins that are Nintendo DS which are these, all non-hardware Gamecube and GBA were expired).

Heh, I bought a copy of Hotel Dusk this year and despite there being no expiry date, when I try and register it, it says it has expired. Annoying really.

Well you could email/call Nintendo about it and if you are lucky they might credit your account with the same number of Stars. I didn't have the exact problem you had, merely a code that just would not register and they did that for me so worth a try?

I'm going to nerd rage* with them about the time period for the free bespoke 3DSes as mentioned a few posts previously. If there was no ridonculous 1 Nov start date I would be in for the maximum of five chances :(.

Oh and how did you find Hotel Dusk incidentally? It looks like something I would like but I never got round to trying it.

I'm also really jealous that Europe is getting Kid Icarus for free. It would be nice if we could get NOA to crack and bring the promotion to America.

I'm sorry :(. I suffered with NOE during the Cube generation so I know how aggravating it can be. I just don't understand why NOA are being so patently obtuse. The Americas [as NCL refers to them] is their biggest market and yet they treat their loyal, long standing fanbase as badly as they used to treat us in Yurop. At least they had an excuse where we were concerned because Nintendo's success was always marginal here before the DS and Wii.

Actually I think I might have deduced it. *puts on deerstalker and inserts pipe* [you may wish to put on a tin foil hat] The previous NOA top brass were got rid of in a Japanese stylee because they failed to artificially kill off the GBA in order to push the DS, as NCL wanted right? Well perhaps the new NOA top brass have bought into the NCL 'expanded market' rhetoric so much that they won't justify the expense of satisfying the desires of the long standing NOA customer in order to not suffer the same fate?

Yes, I know that XC is getting released by NOA next year. I'll stop with the conspiracy theories now.

Back to reality: I'm sure you will get confirmation of exactly the same deal in due course. NOA surely would not wish to suffer the deluge of nerd rage!!!! :P

It is curious however that NOE seem to be more proactive than NOA nowadays; it was always the other way around before. Perhaps there is more to Iwata's comments in the Investor's Briefings in respect of the speed of uptake of new 'proposals' [laughs] in the three terretories than we have hitherto appreciated?

Right, so guys, I've just registered my two games, but how do I choose a 3DS? It says a banner should appear when you've entered the codes, but I haven't seen one.

Can anyone offer help? The mushroom one is calling out to me.

Apparently I've qualified for the free Icarus game and entered 3 times for the Toad Themed 3DS, but it's ok, I never win anything (this won't be different).

I struggled with this too. I believe it added the option to choose a 3DS further down the page which I didn't see until I faffed around, logging in and out a couple of times :/.

As long as you have registered the games you haven't lost your chance or anything. Just get yourself to the relevant section on the site and scroll down the page. I had to do this a couple of times until I found where to apply for both the free 3DS and the free Kid Icarus download code.

Hope that helps; best explanation my brain will come up with today!

For anyone that has entered the competition, how long did it take for each of your entries to register? I've registered 6 eligible games today and each time I saw the banner stating it was eligible, however I still only have a single entry rather than 3.

I've tried contacting Nintendo but as usual their customer support form just throws up an error code when you hit submit.

Use their e-mail instead and watch how the listening company take 6 weeks to actually listen.

Sadly, phoning is the best bet.

I'm guessing since you registered 6 games at once you broke the system somehow.

It takes some days to fully register. Wait until wednesday then check again.

The way it is worded on the German page it sounds like you register automatically. Hmm may have to search for the page if you have to apply manually.

Click Club Nintendo from the bar at the top, and the register buttons should appear on the right, next to the new catalog items and the games recommended to you.

The two tone DSi case is a really nice pick up and not to hard to achieve. I got one for my 3DS.

We don't know the expiry date or indeed if there is one, Oxx.

I just checked the rules for this and there is only a date given for when we can download it:

From the 5th of January 2012, you can use the code to download the title from Nintendo eShop.

but, as I said, nothing to indicate when this has to be done by. I expect if there is such a stipulation it will come in the email that provides the download code.

I also noticed an interesting glitch/feature in Games and systems. My Wii shop purchases are registered a day before they occurred (at least the ones I made yesterday and today). Maybe one day I'll do those surveys...

I liked the statue. Anyway Ball is 7500. Question you need to ask is which do you have a use out of? The problem I have with the SNES controller is its similar to the classic controller (yeah, I know there is some difference). I guess Ball is an interesting history curiosity and if it has the alarm function (I thought this was the point of Game and Watch?) it could be used as an alarm clock (you can never have enough of these) though I'd check in the American thread first as the reward has been there for longer (if you ask which one to get they'll scream SNES controller at you though...) and coins being easier to earn mean somebody probably owns it.

If you play many VC games the SNES pad is awesome( although I am slightly biased, I have many years of muscle memory built up by now).

I'm only listed as entered once for the 3DS promotion, but I have 4 of the games. (Nintendogs Bulldog, Nintendogs Lab, Pilot Wings and Mario Kart 7). Anyone else have this problem?

I really wish 3DSware games gave you some points. It's annoying that Wiiware and Virtual Console games on Wii give you 50 points each, but the 3DS ones give you zero.

The page is a bit glitchy for me as well, sometimes it says I've only got one entry, and other times it correctly displays 2 entries.

I've got a retrousb adaptor so I've been playing VC with my original pad from 91! (Damn I feel old) Think I'll get this to play two player as intended.

The fact that this is such a cumbersome process makes me optimistic about getting my hands on one of these consoles. I just don't think the average customer is gonna have any idea how this works!

I could give you Starfox but looks like Suzzopher beat me to it.

I've seemingly hovered around 5000 stars for a lifetime without finding anything good to spend them on.

The Mario GameCube pad and the Mario Galaxy soundtrack are the only things I have found worthy.

What the hell! I clicked on the banner, trying to log in, goes to a error page, I go back to the main portal, I see that i'm logged in. I registered two games, Zelda OoT and RE Mercenaries, this time not clicking the banner. Where can I read whether i'm eligible or not for the Kid Icarus game? I can't find that information anywhere, not in account not when I click on the banner :(

I had the same problem yesterday all the time. I waited until today and there were the banners.

Just wanted to call this one out. NOEs site still sucks. Last week tried to do Zelda SS post play survey. Got Waluigi'd on the submit button at the end. I did go back during the survey so maybe that broke it...anyway tried again today. Oh, its not there anymore. I guess expecting it to be up for a month was a little much (plus its not like Nintendo wants to hear feedback on Zelda, they would have to innovate then).

In short, did anyone manage to fill it out the Skyward Sword post play survey or did I get unlucky?

If the same thing happens to the Last Story I'm not going to bother penalising myself with stars expiring prematurely anymore. I might also waste my time and money letter the jokers at NOE know that.

Also some more old gifts are back (if they were ever gone, they've been bumped up to the first page of the catalogue anyway). Wii Fit Press Kit spares:

The Mario Kart Sunshade, (a Winter essential) and...

...if its on a windscreen it will fade and no longer be collectible. Also, could increase chance of car being vandalised.

Also the Kirby Frisbee (not called that for legal reasons) because thats what you do in Winter.
