CAPCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.

The game has only been out a couple months. I went on the assumption that Vs games didn't get rereleased which is why I didn't mind paying full price for this barebones POS.

Yeah...I don't know which is worse, to release another game, or to release stuff as all DLC. I guess in the long run, I did enjoy having Super street fighter 4 more as a comparison, but this just feels too soon after the release of MvC3.

Jeez I thought they'd at least show some restraint for MvC3 since they're at the mercy of Marvel but I was dead wrong. Actually kind of pissed, unless the new content ends up being downloadable too.

I think what's really disappointing is that the first game is feature-barren with shitty netcode, and it was clearly rushed to be released early this year, so now people are going to have to buy the game for a second time to get the game they should have gotten in the first place.

The whole Marvel 3 thing was a fiasco to me, I can't think of a single nice thing to say about the game or how Capcom has handled its release. I'll probably grab the next physical iteration of it to see if they've cleaned it up some because I hate hating it, but it was a huge disappointment, to say the least.

Ugh, I realise that this has been a successful thing for Capcom of late but previously it has at least felt as if these subsequent versions were genuine steps forward and a wish to make the product better.

There is no way they didn't know Marvel 3 was incomplete/substandard at launch so this seems really, really cynical. If true.

It was later changed to state that they meant SSF4:AE in the original, not MVC3.

Does the amount of disgruntled/disappointed people in this thread mean that Capcom fans are finally aware of said developer's generation-long nickel-and-diming?

Edit: I don't see this being DLC, just the same as SSFIV wasn't DLC.

Yeah, I think I'm done with Capcom fighting games. I know it's nothing new with Capcom.. but come on.. this shit shouldn't be happening with fighting games these days unless it's an arcade version we're talking about and the updates/revisions are at least a year or two apart.

I honestly don't see them releasing anymore DLC characters. I think the recent DLC character poll they took on the forums is going to go towards this supposed Super MVC3

They should expand the concept again; like X-men vs Street Fighter -> Marvel vs Street Fighter -> Marvel vs Capcom. It should be Comic Book vs Videogame.

I was aware of Capcom's nickel and diming schemes way back in the Super Turbo days. I knew SMVC3 was coming the day Jill and Shuma were leaked on the Internet.

And this new version of MVC3 is not going to release any time soon. Early next year at the earliest. It says so in the Lupinko post that it's going to be coming out next year.

The only thing that makes me mad is the thought of Capcom potentially holding back on the online portions of the game because they knew they would rerelease it eventually.

No they didn't, Capcom Europe never corrected themselves and were talking about MvC3. As I said in the community thread, I wonder if Capcom Europe knows if this is happening when they made the tweet about MvC3 being "done and dusted."

Didn't capcom say they were not going to kill the fighting genre with this shit this time?

Although MVC3 did sound so feature bare online that it should not have even been released.

I can see the online overhaul being delayed until the re-release so it'll look like a better bullet point.

The online features compared to SSFIV and AE look embarrassing and that's coming from the same camp.

Improved and Revamped Online
More than 10 characters; (Hopefully Phoenix Wright, Frank West, Ms. Marvel, and popular characters)
More stages
More modes to exploring around
Full Story Mode

(that might explain why they are going to release SSF4 AE on June 7 (First day of E3)

Capcom say a lot of things. When I see things like SF x Tekken, it only convinces me that it's all talk.

I would seek at least 12 (given that they managed to add that many to SFIV after accounting for SSFIV and AE), but 20 would be nice. Of course, you could count on them making you pay extra for them if there were any chance of them climbing that high.

EDIT: Oh, there have been 14 new additions between the original and SSFIV/AE...shows just how much attention I've been paying.

That is some weak sauce wishlist. Here's mine:

Quote:
*All DLC released for the game up to the its release including more Titles/Events/Shadow mode.

*Full retail package includes 70+ characters that almost doubles the current roster (plus some old ones with more moves/options)

*20+ stages and some of the older ones receiving visual upgrades

*Each character has 5 selectable Assists now

*Each character has over 12 costumes including all the DLC costumes

*You can now select a character more than once upto 3 times (like in MVC2) but this is not the default option in the game

*Fully featured Online modes running on GGPO, Spectator mode, Replay modes/channel, better Matchmaking, Tournament/Championship modes etc. Link to servers where you can directly upload combo videos/in the lab videos and a channel where you can see them all.

*Superior Training options/modes, more combos added to Mission mode with videos to go along with it (and the mission requirement can be toggled on/off like in SF4). Personalized training session of every character in the game that teaches you combos, set ups, assist choices, team mate options, mix ups, block strings, DHC options etc. Videos about the Basics/Advance mechanics in the game, stuff like Advancing Guard, DHCs, THCs, TACs, XFC, wave dashing etc.

*Reworked Menus and User interface

*Full video endings for all characters and more themes/artwork.

*More high quality HYPE intro videos

*More options for Vs/Online mode (ability to Turn on/off X Factor, 1v1, 2v2, Banning pick/Random draft option, All random with or without random assist selection, Turbo mode etc.)

*TRUE 3v3 game play option in which one player controls one character which can be used both online and offline (separate playlist for this and you have to select it in Versus mode). No assists will be chosen, the player outside will be able to input any move available to the character and it will come as an assist as long as the cooldown isn't active.

*Reworked AI battles using up to date combos, strategies, mix ups, block strings, assist types and other stuff. A lot of Shadow Mode battles will be in the game and will randomly come in Arcade mode (like having to play against JWong's Wolverine/Storm/Akuma team).
