i'd love for them to present a more "crafted" multiplayer experience for dumb i-drop-in-and-gets-mine sessions. while i had some of my greatest multiplayer fps experiences with arma 2, they were all in controlled environments overseen by terrifyingly organized people. it would do them wonders to present greenhorns with a more structured competitive multiplayer environment than the exhaustively open capture the island mode.

I gave up on ArmA II because one mission required me to go someplace on the map which was pretty distant, and I couldn't get the fucking chopper to take me there. Either all my guys couldnt fit in, or I kicked the pilot out and couldnt figure out how to fly the damn thing, or couldn't give orders to have him do it. Can't remember exactly what the issue was. Spent most of the time playing online in random servers and getting killed over and over.
This looks fucking hot though. Probably will buy and be frustrated all over again. |

ARMA 3 E3 Presentation, includes gameplay footage.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3YHb...layer_embedded I am sad to find out that their infantry gameplay is still using same clunky and outdated model for weapon view/shooting. Major distraction for me :( |

It's not a massive budget game nor studio with big publisher backing so one can't really expect everything from them. They are also putting out extremely ambitious games instead of going the simple route everyone else has taken. Obviously visuals are improving but theres always going to be weak areas visually with the series compared to what others have been doing.

They have the recipe down perfectly, they just need to work on the rough edges which they are doing with an animation system and proper physics with Software based PhysX, they are adding all the combat scenarios people have been wanting and it's still as easy to mod as every. TRUE fans couldn't wish for me, flip flop gamers who aren't actual fans, want the game to turn into some Battlefield game. This game is about the modding, can't except that? Move on. Some of the modders out there have been hired by professional studios based on their work and a great example is the sound mod makers for this game is creating stuff that is above and beyond 80-90% of games out today!

The mods are what makes this game so much greater.
I find it hard to believe what BI have done with this game with such a small team. And to think that codemasters with a bigger team and bigger budget did with operation flashpoint when they took that name!!!! BI still put them to shame. I know it has bugs and quirks but when you realise how ambitious the game is, you learn to accept them and work with them. Some of the bugs can even bring a smile to my face. Arma 2 is the greatest sandbox game I have ever played. I love just sitting in the back of a helicopter with the rest of the team waiting for the insertion, no other game does it so well. |

There are times where the AI will turn on their flashlights IN THE MIDDLE OF A FUCKING NIGHT AMBUSH. It took the devs month to patch the game to a less-buggy, less-performance hoggy state. Every single expansion pack is like the release of ARMA2 all over again--buggy, horrible performance that has to be patched, broken missions. We still have missions that just do not end when they're completed. ARMA2 is a beautiful game, but it's a buggy mess as well. Don't get pissy because I'm pointing out the obvious and outstanding flaws in a great game. I WANT the game to be better, so I can show it to my friends WITHOUT having to say, "Oh, ignore that, that's a bug, let me restart the mission". |

But your issues should be fixed. And I agree with the above, this game is too niche to ever get any serious amount of polish, we can thank the high heavens that it hit a niche where so many top quality modders and extremely dedicated people are to turn this game into an insanely great game. How hard is it to install OA over ArmA 2 btw? |
