The first Hellboy was pretty great, with a wind-up Nazi, Rasputin and Lovecraftian Elder Gods.

The second Hellboy film was nice effects and some godawful plot about an angry elf wanting to.. destroy humanity or whatever. Either way, Hellboy 2 fucking blew.

Hellboy 2 was fucking awesome. The visual design and sheer imagination on display in it was great. You could tell it was Del Toro just playing around with whatever he wanted, and it was awesome.

From wiki, just so people stop bringing it up:

Quote:
Diesel has played Dungeons & Dragons for over twenty years[14] and wrote the foreword for the commemorative book 30 Years of Adventure: A Celebration of Dungeons & Dragons. In the 30th Anniversary of Dungeons & Dragons issue of Dragon Magazine, they examine the fact that Diesel played Dungeons & Dragons, and reveal that he had a fake tattoo of his character's name, "Melkor," on his stomach while filming xXx.
Love him or hate him, Diesel is a pretty cool guy in general.

TESTIFY!

Sounds to me like that poster isn't familiar with Hellboy comics.

Typical.

That's said fully acknowledging the liberties Del Toro takes with his interpretation of the characters and their relationships; there's still truth of the comics in his art.

Anyhow, looking forward to this one.

Pitch Black is garbage.

Chronicles of Riddick is just stupid fun with goofy ass Vin Diesel. Better than all three Star Wars prequels at the very least.

Offers Made for Third 'Riddick' Battle

While production has been shut down in Montreal, we did a little digging and have landed some potential casting news for Universal Pictures' Riddick, which is being directed by franchise creator David Twohy. We're being told that offers were made to Andreas Apergis, Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, White Noise 2: The Light, Growl, The Haunting in Georgia), Bokeem Woodbine (Total Recall, Devil) and WWE wrestler Dave Bautista (The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption).

Apergis would play "Krone", commander of the dark theocracy. Sackhoff would pay "Dahl", a Nordic merc tracking Riddick.

If signed, they would join Vin Diesel and Karl Urban in the R-rated sequel to Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick.

I really hope this gets back into production.

I dug Chronicles of Riddick despite people trashing it.

I admire the passion Vin Diesel has for the character and that franchise.

Chronicles of Riddick' New Movie BACK ON After Cash Starts Flowing

Quote:
Vin Diesel's new "Chronicles of Riddick" movie is back from the dead ... TMZ has learned ... after the production company scrounged up enough cash to pay off some long overdue bills.

We broke the story ... the movie came to a screeching halt last month, when the guy who owns the Montreal studio where the film is being shot LOCKED OUT the cast and crew after complaining that he hadn't gotten paid.

But things have FINALLY changed ... so says studio owner Michel Trudel, who claims the production company recently paid up ... and he's willing to allow the flick to pick up where it left off.

Sources connected with the production tell us ... the studio payment is just ONE step in the right direction -- noting that several members of the crew who had been griping about not receiving paychecks WILL INDEED get their cash in the very near future.

We're told that filming will resume on December 28.

Glad it's back on, hope this is able to mesh the style of the two previous movies. Chronicles was good, but the Necromonger subplot was a bit corny in its execution.
