Well, first he gets burned. Finds out a shadow organization did it. Initially, refuses to work for them but then sort of does. Then he partially gets back with the CIA and destroys them. Now he's under the heel of the last survivor.
I went to the wiki to double check. |

Management had Michael burned so that they could recruit him to their private little intelligence operation. Carla established that way back when, Vaughn and others have confirmed it. They apparently framed him using Simon's actions.
Since then he's been used by them to destroy others which led to him deciding to take them down, which he did and which got him back into good graces with the CIA. This season he teamed back up with the CIA to finish off the rest of Management and Anson is suggesting that he has been orchestrating events since to break Michael's slowly restoring ties to the CIA, pay him back for killing his creation, and use him for his own purposes. Which makes Anson the final boss of the entire arc thus far. Until, you know, a somehow still alive or free Management decides to pay Michael back for killing his partner. Or some other shadowy higher power who was behind things the entire time!

Management was only one man, Frasier's dad. Michael was disassembling the entire organization bit by bit with the CIA, until they came to the 'final guy'...this was the one Michael and Max took down in the season premier. However, Michael said that the take down didn't feel right, it wasn't fulfilling, and something seemed to still be left. Max, Fi, Sam, and everyone else said otherwise and urged him to put the whole thing away. Turns out that the guy they took down in the season premier was a nobody, someone the boss sent in to take the fall.
If everything is to be believed, Anson is the final bit of the organization (of course, we have to assume he has put together a new team or two under him). Not sure how people can see the main arc as confusing, as it's been pretty straight-forward. There have been a number of misdirects, but in the end, each season has provided one or two simple pieces of the puzzle. The writers are probably making it up as they go, but they're keeping the whole thing pretty cohesive, which is a hell of a lot better than most 5 season story-arcs. We still have 6 episodes this season. I'm thinking this will be mostly Michael running around doing Anson's bidding and trying to figure out a way to get Fi out of danger. |

Ran through the entire series in about 2 weeks time. I fucking love it. Can't wait for the return on Nov 3rd.
And LOL @ people calling management "Frasier's Dad". Hahaha, I don't know why, but it's just hilarious. |

Finally caught up. Kinda had the whole Anson thing spoiled for me via promo while watching Psych lol
Anyway...I'm hoping Larry is dead. Seriously, the thing with him has run its course. As for this Anson business, it will be interesting to see how it plays out. Personally, I think the show has one good season left in the tank and should end after season 6 |

Just got into this show (halfway through season 1) and I like it a lot. Made me real happy to see that there's 5 seasons of this to watch.
Question! How consistent is this show after so many seasons? Any noticeable drops in quality?

i havent watched tonights episode but i'm finding myself getting bored with the incredibly stale formula this show has developed.
1) 5 minutes (tops) dealing with season arc 2) Introduce generic quest giver 3) Michael gives a voice over regarding related spy techniques 4) Call Michael's mom 5) Plan doesn't go as they thought, maybe a chase scene with Fiona's crappy blue car 6) Michael saves the day Did I miss any steps? We need some serious House-like shakeups here. |
