Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage

Just finished this version of the Batmobile:
http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Batman-Ba...lego+batmobile I got it as a birthday gift from my mother-in-law 7 years ago after jokingly mentioning it as a possibility. It sat in my closet for 6 years because I was waiting for on of my children to be old enough to help with it. I absolutely love it, and it got my 5-year old interested in Legos. Edit: Also had no clue it was worth so much money. |

Well, I got off work around 6, and decided to swing by my local Toys'R'us before they closed at 7, armed with my handy 20% off coupon. They unfortunately didn't have any of the Technic or modular sets I was looking for in stock, but I did manage to pick up 9486 Vampyre Castle for $10 less than Amazon's price after tax. Also, while I was browsing I saw a a box of Series 6 and a box of Series 7 minifigs, so I figured what the hell and grabbed 6 Series 6 minifigs. Here's what I ended up with:
![]() Well, I was hoping for the robot, but I did want the alien and the bandit anyway. And I still have the castle to look forward to building tonight after dinner! PM me if you'd like to trade for my extras! |

Just finished the Shuttle Adventure. For it being the old 'broken' design I don't seem to have had the same problems as some. Maybe people are being a bit heavy handed? Mine's just for display, not play, so that may make a difference I suppose. Really fun build though, lots of ingenious stuff in there.
Next up - the Ninjago Samurai Mech with the daughter. Looks decent enough on the box. |

It's Monday and that means... amazon LEGO sales in full-force.
Still don't own that 7965 Millennium Falcon? Well for $104 you can. How about a 9516 Jabba's Palace for $109 instead of $119? Well, it's a start. |

Insane For Sony

What I mean is, in terms of not being great technic model is - it doesn't have the typical Technic advanced craziness like insane gearboxes etc. that you'd expect from a high end technic model. In terms of not being a great vehicle - it's really slow, it tips over so easily, and it can't negotiate much of rough terrain either (just stopped every time he tried to make it go up that rock). I could understand one or the other, but both together makes it bad. Compare to this custom built rock climber. It's fast, it goes over everything with ease: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLk0i6jDMRU Just puts lego's thing to shame, and with less parts too. |

So for the next two weeks I'm down at Southbank (sorry, this is in London) building a giant map of the world out of LEGO.
Here's what we got done in the first day. ![]() and here's a load of bricks ![]() If you want, it's open to the public to come down and build part of it. The map is made up of over 3000 (forgets exact number) tiles and there are a million bricks on site. It's all made up of single peices, the red border was made out of Duplo. So many people tripped over it... It's going to be finished on August 10th, so until then you can go along and build every day between 12 and 4pm, though we stop handing boards out at 3.30pm so we can finish on 4pm and pack away. If you're interested do come by and take part, it's a lot of fun. More info at http://world.southbankcentre.co.uk/ |

There are a lot of great artists (aside from CocoRosie) playing that event. You should check it out if you weren't planning on it. |

![]() This set looks crazy good. Also, they should make the next Creator house more like Olivia's House. I think everyone would prefer more interior details.

DYING for that one. I don't think it drops this week, though :(
Not that it matters, we just bought the house a couple of weeks ago, so no big Friends sets 'til Christmas, probably. That said, I believe there is a 95% chance that particular set is gonna make its way under the tree this year. The house is one of my favorite Lego sets from any theme ever. It is designed to be so easily expandable, it just works perfectly with the little $10 sets. We are building rooms for the designer's studio and the inventor's workshop to add to the house, and something tells me Mia's bedroom will end up in there too! I'll have to take pictures when we turn it from a 4-room house into a small mansion. :) I'm not sure the ranch has been priced yet? There is another set that is somewhat similar for $50 dropping this week. The house is $70. My daughter and I both have our eyes on this one: ![]() ...but I'm probably gonna make her save her allowance for it. ;p

Will they please release some more male figures for the Friends line? Other than the dad with his beard and tie. That's no fun. (BTW, I can't imagine Dad agreeing to that purple and yellow living room set, either.) The line is clearly marketed at girls but that's no excuse. Even barbie has ken.
I like the way the figures look. They should expand it.

Glad to hear you like the camper about as much as the treehouse! That's a fantastic little set. If somebody asked me where to start with Friends, that's the one I'd recommend. Twenty bucks, lots of fun to build and play with, not one damn sticker.
(Sigh, I wish I could justify running out and buying that camper)

This came from the Toys and Bricks forum. If anyone's looking for the Star Wars Imperial Shuttle, it's listed under Target's daily deals (in a bundle with the T-6 Jedi Shuttle). Retailmenot has a $5 off $50 purchase link you can use, and if you have a Redcard, it's an additional 5% off. All together, the 2 sets would cost $232.75 (~27% off MSRP). Or if you have a Discover card, you get 10% cash back on Target purchases, which would make it about 31% off MSRP.
