for some reason they sometimes wont let you pick the package up until a day later. I hope this isn't the case today.

Yeah, you just need ID.

I did it a few weeks back with a Lego shipment from Toys R Us - tracking said available for pick up but I didn't get the delivery slip until the following day - which I enjoyed because I already had my stuff at that point.

I've been to Gamerama for a 360 drive fix, but that was wasted money and I've only heard the same from others. So I'm hoping someone has had some luck with a YLOD repair in the city.

Well dang, I was going to post this as well. My brother is in town and his launch model ps3 bit the dust as well. I knew it was expensive as heck to get it fixed proper, so I guess it'll probably just be best to get a new one =/

Also, have Steam cards made their way to Gamestops/EBs up here? With my folks in town it'll be an easy way to score a game, but I'd rather a Steam voucher now.

My 80GB just got a YLOD. What was the problem with Gamerama? I was thinking of going there.

I'd just order the supplies off of eBay and do it myself guys. There are plenty of videos on youtube and it's really pretty simple. If I can do it (probably the least 'handy' person on this forum, no joke), I think anyone else can. I didn't want to overpay a retailer to do it because who knows what kind of supplies they are using and whether they are doing it properly. Off the top of my head I think you'd need:

- Heat gun ($20-$30)
- Torx screwdriver (~$5)
- Standard Philips Screwdriver + Smaller Philips Screwdriver (Not sure, I had a few lying around at home)
- Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Paste ($10)
- Flux pen (optional, $8)

For much cheaper than going to a store you can have the satisfaction of knowing you have the best supplies and did a good job.
