Maybe "model" was the wrong word, but that SKU in particular was replaced by a tonne of bundles from both last year, and this year.

Played it at PAX, REALLY enjoyed it, especially if you can play it multiplayer. It's not NHL 11, think of it as the Wayne Gretzky 3D Hockey 98. :P

I play it with the sticks. Adds a new dimension to it, it's a heck of a lot of fun.
As mentioned, it's not NHL 11... it's more like Wayne Gretzky Hockey on the N64, but less NBA Jam and more well... normal.

Note: there is no fighting. However, cross-checking with the stick is extremely satisfying. Be sure you get at least 1 extra stick for local multiplayer. That's where the fun lies.

Play "Superstar" mode. It's much harder to hit people. Goalies still suck though.

So is the hitting toned down, then (and is this a MP mode)? Friends and I will have to try it. That's one of the complaints about the game from some corners. I like the fact that there's a lot of puck movement, but the hitting can be kind of overdone.

I went to my local GS yesterday just to confirm about the sale and they were already sold out of Vanquish. The guy there said that he didn't expect to receive another print run, so it seems what's out there is it.

So I bought a TE Round 2 stick from a coworker, but found out my xbox headset doesn't want to fit because it still has that old plastic volume control knob as opposed to newer ones.

What's the cheapest way I can make it work? Seeing things on dealextreme, but I'm sure there's gotta be like a cheap adapter I can buy locally for a couple bucks. edit: or a dirt cheap headset in general.

The situation is more likely that they had one or two copies (likely gutted display copies) and the stock indicator on the site won't update until 8am tomorrow. Either that or they've got copies they've lost in the store but they haven't been processed as shrink yet.

Picked up SotD and Alice. Alice is listed on EB's website as having a $35 TIV for the month, so it's pretty much a no-lose situation if it sucks.
