Downloading it 6MB/sec so it shouldn't take long.

Press "Purchased" in the App Store and you will get estimated time and how much it has downloaded so far.

I think it's a psychological thing ... the download is so slow, a precise numerical progress would crack you up.

reinstall Snow Leopard, sadly. it doesn't seem that you can purchase Lion from the DP or GM Lion.

Just wanna take the time and thank you guys for bearing the brunt of the first released build of Lion. Like your beta brethren, you will seek out and find the initial flaws and cracks. Saving myself and others the headache when we get it mouths from now.

First adopters, I salute you.

I have Snow Leopard on my MacBook Air, but not on my Mac Mini. I cannot install SL onto my Mini (legally) unless I buy another copy of it.

Is there a way I can get Lion onto both my Macs without having to pay the £25 for SL?

Would you have to buy two copies of Lion as well? Or does Apple now allow multi-installs fo the same OS for one price?

Burn the dmg/actual install file (not the .app) in a DVD or USB and that's it.
I think there's a guide on how to do it here at gaf. edit: http://holgr.com/blog/2011/02/creati...0-7-lion-disc/

Thanks, though!

I didn't even notice the new Mini's have no DVD drive. Kind of odd for their low-end, introductory mac/media centre mac to NOT have an optical drive. Makes it a bit harder to recommend to computer illiterate family members/friends as the 'cheap' mac.

It isn't the media center mac. Apple TV is :p

Plus, everything is in the cloud now days, just stream stuff.

I'm sad that there is no way to get a quad core chip WITH the gpu option, and that the non-server edition only comes with 5400 rpm drives :( I'll wait for some reviews/benchmarks to be sure, but for now it looks like there is no new hardware in the works for me.

There has to be a way around this. Devs who installed the GM would be screwed.

Also, aren't there no software updates with the GM? I'm sure they wouldn't want us to be stuck on that.
