Garbage is making a new album. Anyone else excited? #1

Anyone as excited as I am?! They are on twitter( http://twitter.com/garbage ) and Facebook( http://www.facebook.com/GarbageOfficial ) now, so is Shirley Manson ( http://www.facebook.com/pages/Shirle...on/27037696386 ).
Butch Vig recently posted on twitter that they are close to picking the final tracks for the album. Their official website is getting redone http://garbage.com/

Their last album came out in 2005 "Bleed Like Me"

It wasn't that great, but it had a few decent songs.

Nevertheless, I'll check out the new album. I guess I'm turning into one of those uncool people in their 30s who listens to the music from their teenage years.

Paramore can't touch the first 2 Garbage albums. I mean really, how weak can you get?

I had no idea this was coming, and I'm pretty excited to give it a listen.

I'm quite interested. Their third album was poor but Bleed Like Me was mostly quite good, if a bit monotone. If they can get anywhere near their first two albums I'll be delighted, they're both in my regular rotation.

Butch Vig and Manson have in the past said their more mellow songs are among their favorites. If we get more tracks like Milk, The Trick is to Keep Breathing and You Look So Fine, yay.

I really like Shirley Manson. Hopefully she brings her A game.

I thought "Bleed Like Me" started strong but kind of fizzled out.

Hopefully it'll be a return to form.

I'm really interested on how it might turn out. First two discs are incredible, third is rubbish and fourth is a mixed bag, so it's not like they are in straight decline. After a 6-7 years hiatus if they are coming back I guess they are at least motivated to do something new. I have faith in Butch and Shirley.

3rd album has some decent tracks, but yeah, their first two were brilliant. Hope it's more of that.

Actually, I like Cherry Lips and a few other tracks on Beautiful Garbage. It's pretty wonky as an album though.

At anyrate let me know when it hits as I'll want to check it out, but I'm not sure if they have the magic anymore...

I'm joking, Cherry Lips is a cute song cause I love when she made her voice into that cutesy girlish voice.

Push it and Special are actually my favorites though.

update from Shirley's facebook:

Quote:
Darklings.....
It's not my birthday YET!!!! It's the 26th of August.
Hold your fire!!!

Secondly.......the greatest news of the last few days for garbage!!
We have set a mastering date for the new record.
We are so close to being done, it's not even funny!!!!!

Thirdly.......thankyou to everyone who has donated to my birthday wish for the Pablove Foundation. I can't thank you all enough. I was near to tears yesterday when I saw how generous you have all been and the little notes you left for me at http://wishes.causes.com/wishes/347205.
Sometimes you blow me away. Honestly you do.

Fourthly......my sincere concern and condolences go out to all you Londoners. Watching the riots from afar has been truly sickening and heart breaking. I literally have felt sick to my stomach since yesterday. My sister and brother-in-law and their two little twerpies live in Hackney and it's all so frighteningly close to home. I hope that people will just calm down and this madness will stop.
I pray you and all your loved ones stay safe. x

Also, Shirley Manson was my first crush and she will always be, I want to marry her so we can pee on each other.
