Not sure if they patched it out or not, but position yourself where you can be on the other side of a wall from him. When he jumps over do a lethal or non-lethal take down on him. Spoiler in vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elVCxc0hwBs That video is from 9 months ago but youtube has some that were posted a month ago so I'm sure it still works. |

I really should have played this on PC. I bought this at launch for 360, barely played it, and returned to it a few days ago. Should have taken that as an opportunity to play it on my newly-rebuilt PC. I probably could have hacked my way out of this debacle I'm in if that were the case.

Can't beat him. Threw every grenade I had at him and used every bullet I had. My closest save before the 'incident' is right before I leave Sarif with Malik and ultimately get the chopper shot out of the sky. I'm going to try and save her this time. Only problem is I currently have no sniper rifle, which I'm pretty sure would make this next thing pretty easy.
Can I acquire a Sniper Rifle at this point? Is there an armory at the Sarif Building? edit: Nevermind about the sniper rifle. I just threw a grenade at the helicopter to help put her out of her misery quicker.

Finished it. Can't say I've ever completed a game in the same sitting that I had to backtrack about 2.5 hours to start off. That last boss battle was confusing but overall much better than the rest. Was that one also outsourced or was it just the others?
Most of this game was excellent. Specific parts were grueling. |

I've already beaten this on PS3 but with the series on sale on Steam I think I can get Deus Ex: HR + The Missing Link for less than the DLC alone on Steam. Do I need to have a save file or anything for HR to play Missing Link or can I just jump in? Do augs or choices or anything carry over from the main game?

Completely separate from the main game. Disappointingly so. |

Just finished the game. Short impressions (spoilers ahead):
What incredibly disappointing last few hours. What an incredibly stupid, easy and cliche final boss that comes completely out of nowhere. The story doesn't offer much closure, though that's hardly surprising given how little development there's been outside of how you get to understand Malik/David/Pritchard better. I have so many issues with the story, such as pacing, development, the enemies, closure, though I must admit I was really well entertained in the first 10-20 hours until I saw through everything. Looking back I don't get the praise the game (or its soundtrack) got. It's a good game, but it's too repetitive in both setting and gameplay/level design, which is something Deus Ex managed to avoid (mostly). The soundtrack is decent ambient music with one or two good tracks, but not even close to the glory of the original Deus Ex (which is an unfair comparison I must admit). The story is pretty bad in hindsight, not to mention the whole "Hey, I'm trying to escape from this explosion and here's some pod, why not lie down in it ? Oh hey, look, I found the super secret base where the scientists are." Good game, but ultimately a bit too boring/bland gameplay/level design, disappointing story, fun (but also annoying) boss battles, an awesome dialogue system, great (German) synchro, cool art design, some cool "scripted/cinematic events" and a lot of content, but it doesn't come close to Deus Ex. Still I wouldn't mind more games like this, I had a lot of fun with it. Oh, scene after credits. Nice. At least a tiny bit. Does any of the DLC tackle my issues with the story ?

The pod thing actually goes into the missing link, that whole segment might as well have been ripped out of the game in order to do dlc.
Gonna have to disagree about the level design and gameplay though, they were top notch. The boss battles are shit, the music owns. I never wanted the game to end. |

Also the DLC explains the pod thing ? Well, at least something I guess. Still there doesn't seem to be any closure whatsoever, which is really disappointing. All you get is generic philosophical talk. I wouldn't mind if the game went on, but only because so much closure is missing. |

Out in open areas? It's a bug. If you were to run an fps counter it would show normal high yet you would still have stutter. There is a fan made fix for it but I cant remember the name of it or where to get it. There should be a link somewhere in this thread for it. You will have to run through the city once or twice to get all of the shaders cached and then it will be much smoother. |

Like an increased inventory mod, a debug mod (want xp or praxis points? all the guns? here you go!) |

I spent a horrible amount of time changing all the settings, but I had insane stutter. If you're getting the same, weird stutter that I was, windowed mode will work perfectly. And the window is boarderless which is nice. |

Loving the pistol and double-barrel shotgun. Upgraded the pistol in particular to holy hell. Headshots are extremely satisfying. Also, I tried to make the game more challenging and interesting by only augmenting Adam in a certain order. - I cycle through each body part per praxis point (after I spend a praxis point on Back for example, I have spend my next one on Skin). If I've completed a body part, I just skip it obviously. - Within each body part, I go from left to right on augmentation chart. The augmentation must be fully completed (green color) before I skip to the next one - The only choice I have comes within the augmentation tree itself. For example, within Stealth Enhancer, I can choose if I want to get "Last Known Location Marker" or "Mark and Track 1.0" first. I'm using that Smart Vision playthrough, never used it on my others. Really useful. On the other hand, I've had to waste like 3 Praxis on that "walk quietly" augmentation that I never use ever. Also, I still haven't upgraded Hacking Capture past 1 and it's sooo annoying. I'm pretty sure you NEED at least level 2 or 3 to do some sidequests, as I've had to use those unlocking tools. |
