The Daniel Danger Gorey-inspired Girl in Black is beautiful. I've never seen the movie, but that poster would go on my wall in a heartbeat. I love that style of art.
Speaking of haven't seen/read it, the Kevin Tong Ayn Rand poster is also gorgeous and would go on the wall, despite my dislike of Ayn Rand. Olly Moss's Star Wars posters are fucking brilliant. Using C3PO's eyes as the binary suns; Cloud City as Boba Fett's visor. Pure genius. Edit: oh shit, never saw Moss's Totoro poster. Would put that on my kid's wall...shit, my living room wall...in a heartbeat. Edit2 : Oh shit, reading through the thread and Olly Moss is a GAFFER?! New best GAFfer ever.

I got in some money for a big sale and was always really wanting Jeff Proctors Texas Chainsaw Massacre that is printed on wood. Don't know if anyone is familiar with this one but if anyone knows how sturdy it is? Trying to figure out how I would display it and not crazy about framing a big wooden slab. Is it sturdy enough that you can just lean it on a shelf or is the wood flimsy that it would bend on itself?
Easiest thing would be too nail it to the wall but... yea not going to do that lol |

It's really sharp.. my only "complaint" though is that it almost comes off as TOO authentic.. ya know? It looks like it would have been something produced back when it was released rather than kind of a stylized homage to it. I dunno, maybe I'm crazy.

Here's a link to the large version of the 20000 League's print. I think I may have to bite on this.

I had my Totoro poster framed at a custom frame shop. They did a phenomenal job and I'm glad I went this route for this poster, but it was super expensive. I'm looking for something to do that's around the $50-75ish range that I could use for posters that aren't as rare or that I don't care as much about. |

If you are keeping them in a room away from any sunlight, you shouldn't have to worry about any UV protection. If custom frames seem to expensive you can usually for cheaper get a decent do it yourself frame. When you start getting into UV protection and such on your glass it also really going to raise those prices even more.

Around $300. Had it done at a local shop with tons of glowing reviews. After speaking with them for a while before and after I had the framing done, it was obvious they know what they're doing, don't take any shortcuts, and do very high-quality work.
I probably could've had almost the same thing done at Michaels or something for half the price, but I don't think it would be the same. |

Next time you want to frame something yourself, go to americanframe.com. You can get a high quality frame for fairly cheap and framing it yourself is pretty easy. Michael's framing service is incredibly overpriced. I went in to see how much it would cost to have a cheap frame made for my Moss Mario and they wanted $300. You're better off either going to a professional framing place or doing it yourself.

I REALLY want this 20,000 Leagues print but I have to get on a bus soon. I hope it goes up in the next 30 min...
Maybe someone on here who isn't interested could snatch it for me and I'd pay them a little extra for their trouble?
The frame is pretty simple/minimalistic but I think it matches the Totoro print perfectly. I'm waiting until I move to a new place in a couple of months before I hang it, so I'll come back here and post pictures then. |
