I actually saw the music video for that song last not. Not bad! Something about it doesn't quite click with it, but the dancing was good, and I like the beat a lot, especially that little drum break towards the end. Super good :)

I listened to a few tracks thanks to this post. His voice gives me MJ vibes at times, which surprised me because I never got that from Fall Out Boy. I like.

I saw JoJo last night at the Hard Rock in Detroit and she was INCREDIBLE. She did some of her own songs and covered "You Know That I'm No Good" by Amy Winehouse and "Are You That Somebody" and "One in a Million" by Aaliyah. It's a damn travesty that's she not more popular.

Kele from Bloc Party has a new EP out recently, but it's mostly poor. There's a decent track called "Cable's Goodbye" that sounds basically like a BP song, but the rest is half-baked club material that cribs from whatever's popular right now. At least he still looks good.

Heh, I feel sort of the same. It was disheartening to know that I wouldn't be standing six feet in front of Beth Gibbons at the Portishead concert, watching her elegantly puff on a ciggy between verses because she had to go and quit smoking. I wanted some of those ashes flicked onto me, damn it!

This probably isn't the right thread for it, but you have no clue how jealous I am of the fact that you went to a Portishead concert with that amazing man on your arm. I first listened to Dummy exactly two days after they played a concert in the area, back when I was a young'n, and they went on hiatus shortly thereafter. One of the few remaining bands on my "must see before I die" list. All in due time, I guess, now that they're traveling again...
