I hear it's the very last one for a couple of people. There's just something about the level layout and enemies of the Depths that make no damage runs harder.
I did it with Judas and had treasure map + compass + bible so I could go pretty much straight to mom in the fewest rooms possible and instakilled her. The coolest part about Isaac is that so many item combinations can be useful while encouraging wildly different playstyles.

For one thing, Mom's Heart is a lot easier than Mom. Also in the Womb you usually get Scolex, but in the Depths you might have to fight some bullshit like Monstro II.

Run right back down next to him the moment the laser is done, this will get him to do the laser again. With the right timing you can get him stuck in that loop for the entire fight. |

Just played this game for the first time yesterday (apparently I bought it at some point and completely forgot about it). It's real fun and seems I started at the perfect time with the expansion pack news.
During my first playthrough I got the Dead Sea Scrolls in the first dungeon and was curious if that was a really rare drop since I haven't seen it since. What is the purpose of the other characters? Issac seems like the best choice out of the first two I unlocked (on my 2nd playthrough woo). |

Starting items.
Cain has Lucky Foot, which makes all pills have positive effects (can be very useful) and generally gets you better stuff. Starting with a key is nice too (he's the "thief"). Maggie has 4 hearts and an item which heals a heart and recharges fairly quickly. The only character I don't really get is Eve, and maybe ?????? but I haven't unlocked him, and he's obviously a challenge character. |

Most of the items are pretty rare, yes. Have you killed mom yet? |

Cain's Lucky Foot is the best starting item, up until you unlock the d6 for Isaac.

Eve is kind of tough. If you happen to get a source of Soul Hearts, and manage to damage her to half a regular heart (or less) with the Soul Hearts on top, she's pretty beastly.

Man, am I the only one who feels really down playing the game sometimes? I wasn't expecting this game to make me feel so bad about it's characters. Dat epilogue.
...and then had horrible things done to me in the womb on the next playthrough. Bosses in every room I went in fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu |

The game seemed in the mood to give me Technology and Chocolate Milk today, so it seemed as good a time as any to try and finally get Shiol done with Eve and Judas. Success!
Man, the Devil at the end of Shiol is starting to feel way too easy. Can't wait for the expansion. |

Eve: Starts with only 1 Attack Power. But she also gets two items by default: Dead Bird (spawns the bird familiar if you are injured in the room) and the ability that turns you into a demon at 1/2 heart remaining. She's heavy risk-reward because she's basically better with less health. ???: Has zero regular hearts and 3 soul hearts. Anything that adds real hearts just adds soul hearts. Starts with the most generally useless item in the game. A really difficult character to play as due to this crushing restriction. |

Well if the comment on the picture is anything to go by the floor formation in the picture is tied to the "map curse" being tested. We could assume that the map curse being used forms a floor with a multitude more rooms than normal
Also possible is that that floor is something entirely new altogether. You'll notice the floor name is blanked out where it would normally say "Caves I" etc. All speculation at this point of course |

For no damage runs, try to get as much damage output as possible so you can kill enemies before they become a threat to you (ideally with something like Brimstone). Judas is the most damaging character, so try to get it with him. For these specialised achievements, you'll have a hard time "just getting them" while playing the game normally, it helps to really try and form your strategy/choices around them. Like taking a deal with the devil for added damage you usually wouldn't make if you were planning to get to Satan and such. Satan is all about learning the pattern, once you learn how to bait out his lasers for example, his second form shouldn't be much trouble.

Thankfully you don't need to get the no-damage achievements to get Golden God, so you don't necessarily need to worry about those.

It doesn't show up very often in my experience, but if you've unlocked it, it should be around. I've seen it in Shops, Treasure Rooms, and I think even once in a Devil Room.
