As much as I hate them for it, I also give them crazy kudos for having the balls to do that. It's been a looooooooong time since I felt like a TV show punched me in the gut.

Thirded. Wow. I was honestly expecting it to go the other way around, Robin going through with it and Barney not, to keep up the is it Robin/Nora he's marrying at the wedding shenanigans.

But man, that ending was a sucker punch of emotion. The look on Barney's face, Jesus. When How I Met Your Mother goes for the crushing emotional moments, they really manage to nail them out of the park.

The Ted/Marshall/Lilly part of the episode was unbearable. Do they have first year film majors writing for them now? The series needs a specific end date soon.

This season has been uneven as a whole, but gawdamn, the hard emotional moments have been unbelievable.

From Ted's "I've stopped believing" monologue, to the meeting with Victoria, to tonight, the show has demonstrated that even when it's not at its best, it is still capable of rising above being "just another sictom".

The real seller was Barney and Robin, and man did I feel awful for Barney. Wow, I can't believe she'd do that to him. That ending was upsetting.

Mostly an echo, but: if the pit in my stomach is any indicator, that was a great emotional episode.

The Ted and Marshall story was blah, but it set up that moment in the end, and christ. What a moment. One of the best emotional moments this show has done. I love that the show is doing more of these.

Besides the final three minutes, this was easily one of the worst episodes of the show, ever. But, damn did the writers hit home with that ending. I don't even like the Barney/Robin storyline, but that was exceptionally well done. First time in a long time that Barney's (and that relationship as a whole) felt like a real person.

I agree with the sentiments that the episode was pretty dry until the end. It really hit home for me (the ending), and I'm guessing it had similar effects on others. The season was all over the place, but they sure know how to do emotional moments.

i liked the ending. Barney proved he still needs to develop more as a character. He was all into Nora because he said she made him a better person, made him want to be a better person. He told her all his crazy lies to women and waited hours just to get a 2nd chance with her. Then he blew it, cheated on her (something his old character would do), for what? because Robin is as much a mess as he is?? wtf barney?
