I've got nothing against Heche, but I don't think she's a strong lead for a network show.

I don't think Up All Night will make it, but I'm not 100% sure. The thing is that NBC really loves their new comedies. Besides Community and 30 Rock, I don't expect any of their other bubble comedies will make it - that includes Up All Night.

And that would be sad about Up All Night... but not surprising. It's ratings were truly terrible, it would have done so much better had it stayed in the Wednesday time slot. |

It's a shell of its formal self. A fun distraction, maybe, held up by a good cast, but nothing like it was before hand.

I'll be bummed if Up All Night doesn't make it, definitely my favorite new show of last year.

Deadline reporting that:
- 30 Rock close to a final pickup of 13-14 episodes - Whitney unlikely to return - Up All Night better than Whitney, but still up in the air - Community 50/50 - Parks has a good chance Stupid. Whitney is a stronger property than Up All Night, no matter how much better than Up All Night is creatively. |

Your time. Your idiocy.
I haven't watched Up All Night, but I hope it gets renewed only for Will Arnett to not have to find another show to try to prop up again. (Then again he does have AD season 4 and that IFC show on his plate...) |

Whatever Community gets is most likely the last orders the show will ever get.

No - Remember, they're starting early in August because of the Olympics. They'll order more than they normally would just because they have more real estate they need to fill. I expect a ton of time shares.

I think that's for the best, honestly. Characters spend 4 years in community college = 4 seasons of the show. It's pretty perfect, and I want the show to go out while it's still sort of on the top creatively.

I wish NBC would just cancel The Office and put it out of its misery, but that won't happen :(
Still hoping Parks and Rec is back with a full order next year. |

52 weeks should be enough time for one slot to air 3 TV shows of 13 episodes each, and then 1 or 2 6 episode test balloons. Accounting for shows that get pulled during the season due to terrible ratings, as well as the occasional special event or pre-emption, it'd be a snug fit, but I think the creative output would be much much better. I'm sorry to say that none of NBC's pilots conceptually seem like they're gonna be the ones to bring the Peacock back from the brink, but if they do shift to a more annualized schedule, that's good by me. |

That's just NBC all over at the moment. Treading water and it sometimes feels like they are relishing it.
This show barely gets a 1.0 in the demo but it does get 8-10 million (old) people tuning in. I wouldn't want to be the guy whose pilot is passed over by Greenblatt so NBC can keep this on the air. |
