You are correct! Even though the magic number is 88, plenty of shows can (and have) gotten by with less. Look to 'Til Death for reference (81 episodes, rerun on local channels and WGN).

I think it helped Doctor Who avoid getting its arse kicked by British summertime last year. :lol

And yeah, I love it. It's a great show. It had awkward bits but for every spotty episode there's 2 golden ones. |

Community is at 84 (if) it gets a final 13. That's good enough for syndication.

What's the story with there being 15 episodes for Parenthood? That's neither half a season nor a full season. Is it that it's an expensive show to make and that's why they're cutting back from the normal 22? Or is it that they're not very happy with the numbers?

Year round Time Share for NBC so they could do 15 there, 6 another show, 22 + for others.

Someone should remake Misery but James Caan is Bob Greenblatt and Kathy Bates is a Community fan.
I have no insider info on this, it's just a joke. |

I find Dana Delany quite attractive so it being renewed is fine by me, even if it isn't a very good show. Would have much preferred The Finder of the two, even though they have nothing to do with each other.

Don't get me wrong I hate very few shows (I am looking at you 2 Broke Racists) but Body of Proof never really pulled in good ratings/never was on anyone's radar. It just seems to exist. Nobody hates it or loves it.
Hope you enjoy the show and congrats on it's new season I suppose. |

I would have preferred The Finder as well, but I'll take what I can get. I've had a ridiculous crush on Dana Delany since "China Beach"...

CBS cancelled A Gifted Man, much to no one's surprise.
NBC is pulling Rock Center with Brian Williams for Law & Order: SVU repeats. Again, no surprise. Expect it to be cancelled. |

i'm gonna blow a gasket if whitney gets renewed for full season and P&R gets a shorter and last season.

Chiming in with the "super bummed if Parks & Rec gets put down early" crowd. 30 Rock I'll miss, but it's had enough episodes where I'd be ok with it going out fairly strong.

Think she is a great voice actress, not so much live action.

I actually think Community has been running out of ideas (and can't really have them all be attending community college forever), so I'm fine with one final season as a send-off. I'm grateful for the seasons we did get.
But I will be furious if Parks and Rec gets cancelled. Especially if the Office is kept on. I should be mad at NBC, but as usual, I'm more mad at old people for watching NCIS, teeny boppers for watching American Idol, and the use of Nielsen boxes to still determine ratings in the 21st century. |
