Those kids are passionate about something. That's important. Passion. Passion is what makes for good treaties, good relationships, good pizza, good everything. Including wars. Denmark destroys all!
It's just a voice over and then some clips of some stuff. It just comes off as cheesy. I think a lot of the mockumentary sitcoms do this for some reason. |

Wow, I guess I was the only one who didn't love this episode? Beyond some funny stuff concerning Ben and Leslie in the treaty (and I'm already tired of Leslie being a bitch... like last week), everything else was really blah. Maybe some of the Jerry and Donna stuff, but that's about it.
This season has been such a let-down. Everything from the multiple Tammys to another April and Andy party hasn't been as creative, witty, or comedic as it should be. The only episode thus far that's had the "spark" of last season has been Born and Raised. Even Ron's tonenail line was uninspired. You can do better, Parks and Recs writers.

I share your disappointment ivysaur. I haven't really felt compelled to comment, because of how stale a lot of this season feels. Tom's Entertainment 720 plotline and Chris' tired shtick have been the main things bringing the season down.
The documentary conceit has been irritating more and and more lately. I used to be able to overlook how little sense it made, but now all i'm seeing is a lazy device for a bunch of easy jokes, as the characters explain stuff to the camera. I dunno, maybe some of the charm has worn off for me. I still love the show. I just know it can do much better than most of the episodes this season. |

If what I've heard about tonight's episode is true, I'm super excited. Hell, it's Parks and Rec...I'm always super excited for new episodes.
If the previews are any indication, I'll be happy because I love Ben and Leslie and think they have more comedy potential together than they have when fighting and being awkward. |

Glad things started to turn around at the end. I was starting to get really annoyed with Leslie, even starting to have flashbacks to season one.
This isn't suggesting that they somehow "lucked" into their amazing third season, but I really do wonder if 16 episodes is a better fit for the show than 20something. I wouldn't go as far as calling anything this season straight-up filler as I'm still very much enjoying it, but if the 8 eps so far had maybe been condensed to 5 or 6 I think it could have hit that same "firing on all cylinders" groove from last season. Edit: Still a very good episode. The Andy/Ron and Tom/Jerry plots were great, and the Leslie/Ben scene at the end was great.

The college stuff was great but the Leslie/Ben are they/aren't they story has annoyed the crap out of me since it started and this episode was the worst bout of it. Thank god it now appears to be over but it really dragged the show down for me. Most of the other recent subplots have been fine but Amy Poehler is not good at trying to be dramatic in a way that comes off sincere. :\

Yeah I kinda agree with you on the whole will they/won't they plot line, and I am glad that they are ending it. I also think that the college stuff was great, and watching Andy ask for a ticket to womens studies class was hysterical. |

You realize that The Office played with the will they/won't they stuff for seasons upon seasons while Parks has been much quicker to come to big moments, right?

The will they/won't they on the office didn't get tired that fast at all and you know that. Seasons 2 and 3 are widely considered the best and they were right in the middle of that, when it had the most momentum.
PandR has followed similar arcs over an insanely smaller amount of time, giving the show that much more momentum at every moment. |

unlike the office though ben isn't a likable or entertaining character, which speed ups the getting old progress from 3 seasons to half an episode |
