I watched Ranch and thought it was extremely mediocre. Some chuckles here and there but no laughter like old Modern Family/Parks&Rec/Sunny in Philly/etc bring. Here's hoping the other episode will be a sign of good to come.

(ex they made Dillan too unrealistically dumb that I couldn't even laugh at it, too much same old stuff)

edit: I hate the baby! I wanna make the baby dead!.........Modern Family redemption!

Watched the first episode last night. I laughed my ass off at the pop up photo album and what Gloria said after the cowboy grabbed her ass "He's not down there!"

I find Manny more amusing when he's discussed by Jay and Gloria than when he's onscreen.

It really was amazing.

I was also slain by Luke telling Lily "this isn't over" after she pushed him away from Cam.

First episode was eh.

Second episode was the Modern Family I know and love. I was surprised it didn't end more sentimentally, but it was hilarious. I didn't stop laughing the entire security camera scene. That entire family interaction in the last 5-6 minutes was amazing. And new Lily is an amazing addition.

Such a bizarre scene in the first episode when Alex tells new Lily not to kick her when swinging, new Lily barely brushes against her and Alex dramatically falls to the ground in a huff.

Ariel really doesn't look that mature at all. The comments about her are getting a little freaky, actually.
Also, people say that Hyland looks really young but I don't see it. She maybe looks 3 years younger than she is.

Yeah that was poorly done. Alex's whole story in that episode was pretty lame.

Speaking of the first episode, did anyone else think Mitchell and Luke's firecracker was going to cause a fire or something? I seriously thought more was going to go wrong.

And I think Hyland could pull off 15 fairly easily, she has one of those faces that will always look young.

Not really. Guess you never had younger siblings? She was pretending to fall to draw some laughs from the kid. Which why she standing in front of the swing and letting Lilly hit/graze her. Incidentally this is also why she called that kid a dumbass, because he couldn't figure that out.

She and he worded it like it kept happening. Maybe they cut the scene short and originally had her falling twice.

and every single god damned adult in the group, there is 6, 6 of them is going "yeah cool, good for you", no one bothers to even think "hey you might not want to make life deciding decissions on a fucking whim in 5 mins at your age with just a finished high school (does he even has that?)"

Pro tip, if you want to make an argument about the judgement on something 100 times less serious then murder, don't include that over done sentence at the end.

I thought that, when the fire cracker didn't go off immediately, a flock of birds would land on the birdhouse, and then it would explode, killing all of the birds.

This was very odd. They didn't even ask if he talked to his parents or anything. No one cared at all, even Phil, which is strange since he was sort of friends with Dylan.

I also did not read the scene this way. They could made it a little more obvious that Alex was playing with Lily, if that was really their intention with the scene.

Good appropriate, or good funny?

I don't see anything wrong on the former, and the latter is subjective, though I found them funny (the second slayed me, actually).

Good episode. Cam and Mitchell's story was great, especially the ending when Mitch broke down and went looking for the seal. The Dunphy stuff was good, but was sort of the token sentimental storyline that seems to be a requirement. Jay and Gloria were definitely the 'B' story this episode, although I liked the shower scene.

I was highly amused by Luke's comment that Phil thought was "genius": "Maybe you keep falling because a part of you knows you can fall. Maybe if the wire was much much higher you wouldn't fall."

Yeah, super motivational, but I was expecting Phil to be walking across a tightrope across two buildings or something, haha.
