I was talking to my friend and we were arguing coming up with the best actors list. My list was
1) Dilip Kumar 2) Sanjeev Kumar 3) Naseeruddin Shah 4) Guru Dutt 5) Amitabh Bachchan Runners up: Raj Kapoor, Sashi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, SRK, Kamal Hassan, Anupam Kher His list had 1) Amitabh Bachchan, 2) Raj Kappoor, and rest I forgot. What do you guys think |

I still haven't seen Guru Dutt's films so can't say much there but I would swap out Amitabh for Anupam Kher the rest seems in line (for the top 5 that is). While SRK can be entertaining to watch I don't think I've seen him play a role to be considered amongst the rest of the people you stated but then again I'm no film critic and would not know the 'mechanics' of a good performance. What abot Sunil Dutt?
Also what do people think of Sanjay Leela Bhansali? I really like Khamoshi and elements of his subsequent films. |

It's like, if Aishwarya and Salman were to get together in "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam", it would not remain "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" for me any more at all. My biggest flaw in "Khamoshi" was that the girl remained alive. I had to do that out of pressure from Polygram. They said, happy ending, or we don't give you the money, we're backing out. In my story, Manisha actually dies and she goes into the world of silence as she is buried, and that is what "Khamoshi" is all about. In that sense, "Khamoshi" is an incomplete work for me. It bothers me till today that I compromised. I should have stuck to my position. But even otherwise, most of my movies are not those where at the end, people meet and come together and all that..." That would have made khamoshi even more stronger. I hope aish keeps working in his films. He brings out best in her. |

Prosecutor is let out after a minute and he's all wtf and complaining, and hrithik roshan utters something like "You can't live 60 seconds of my life?". It sounds good on paper, but looks ridiculous on screen. Why would anyone get inside a box in the middle of a legal proceeding. Saawariya was even more stupid. It was more like a badly done play. |

Did you guys know there are lots of free Bollywood movies on Youtube with HD quality?. There are many old time classics like Angoor, Maine Pyaar Kiya and Anand. For the recent ones, check out Firaaq. It's very good.

I know this Bollywood thread. But my God this preview of a music video by Bilal Khan gives you chills: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=GzzdZM1bq3E
I can't wait for the video! :) There should be Pakistani Music Appreciation |OT| or South Asian Music Appreciation thread |OT| aside from all the Bollywood stuff. >_> So much great indie stuff that gets unnoticed. |
