Obj export failed in 3rd birthday though. Worked ok in bbs so might be a bit of work left yet. From the forums it looks like it is pretty dynamic.

* Install and config are no problem * Games tend to start up fine * Sound and cut-scenes play without a problem, maybe dropping a frame here and there. * Games look good out of the box, odd artefacts here and there but nothing too bad * Can bump things up to say 1080p and 8xAA and a lot of PSP games look extremely good * If not much is happening, emulator runs fine and gets a decent 30fps. * When you start playing, and hit something with geometry, you are going to get down around 10fps and it will be extremely choppy. * Mapping camera controls to say the right stick on a PS3 pad makes games like BBS so much better * You can export and import textures and export 3D models, this is new but nifty. * Development seems to be very active and things are moving fast. However the stable version is a long way behind and the daily build may or may not be a good one. Playable: Valkyria Chronicles 2 (seems near perfect but have not gone through a whole lot yet) Not really playable: Third Birthday, BBS, P3P (all fall down in action. BBS maybe does a little better than the others). Summary? If you have some PSP games around, worth a go if only for the better graphics and control. Just don't expect playable performance yet on most games when the action ramps up, unless you have a real ninja PC (?). Development seems far from stable, but it is certainly something to keep an eye on.

tried and failed at rendering in blender. bummer since it all shows up fine in the actual user perspective. would keep trying but i think the awfulness of blender's ui is actively trying to give me an aneurysm.

Thanks; these are great! I had been hoping that it was in a higher resolution and that the characters were a little clearer, but it's better than what you can see in the game. That looks like Oerba writing around the edge and what could be Etro numerals in the little circles in the middle. Let me pull out my alphabet lists and see if I can make any of it out.

I love seeing Emulation progress.
But still for something like the PS3 or the kinect, I don't see how we'll be able to emulate that years from now. Which is kind of disheartening since thanks to emulation, it's one of the only ways to really play a game that's been forgotten. |

Nothing imprtant so far.
I use these settings: Only GE graphics Use Vertex Cache Use Shaders Enable VAO Save GE screen to textures The HUD is slightly corrupted, and that can be fixed by enabling the option "Enable decoding of indexed textures", but that seems to break texture filtering so I dont use it. edit: edited settings for optimal performance

Got Ratchet and Clank Size Matters working, at full speed.
Bloom is bugged and some models are broken, but it works. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBINfnLqwTg |

Guess this has slowed down now that progress on the emulator has weirdly shifted to online play.
I think the emulator get's too much shit for java, most issues are in emulation and not really speed. Most games should be playable on any sandy bridge CPU once you figure the correct settings. I can run a few games in PCSX2 at full speed (NiGHTS, Final Fantasy 10, etc.) but in the one or two PSP games I've tried I get 2-3fps (Sonic Rivals and I think I tried Kenka Bancho at one point). That should definitely not be the case. Just because you've got excess processing power to spread around doesn't mean it is acceptable :P |

It is a little unfair to compare the two emulators when they are at completely different stages of maturity. If JPCSP continues development for 2 or 3 more years, I'm sure it'll be somewhat faster.

This is true, but isn't it also true that the PSP's architecture was a bunch more orthodox than the PS2's? Napkin maths dictates that it should be easier to get PSP emulation running at speed than it is with PS2.

Yeah, if only by virtue of more people out there having upgraded to faster processors. :P

Yeah, I don't think people even realize how many more commiters PCSX2 has over JPCSP. It's amazing it runs anything at full speed at all. Seeing as PCSX2 has almost double the amount of revisions it's a little telling how much quicker development is for JPCSP.

It makes you wonder if they'd have more people working on it if they hadn't gone with Java.

So most games are playable now? Last time I checked on this, it looked like Birth By Sleep was still unplayable (some game breaking glitches or something).
So, Sandy Bridge CPU and you're good to go for most all games? I still haven't played my copy of Crisis Core, but with how amazing it looks on here, I'd love to emulate it instead (and play it with a normal controller and on a TV no less). EDIT: Sandy Bridge CPU for the fucking win. Wii emulation has been great. PS2 emulation has been great. Now it looks like PSP emulation is gonna be great. |

Not sure if it was brute forcing through a bunch of settings or if it was fixed in a new build, but the corrupted background effect is fixed in type 0
downsampled from 1440p ![]() ![]() ![]() FF3 seems pretty unstable so far, crashes randomly during transitions, bit more picky in settings

Frame rate in a bunch of games improving slowly
KH Birth By Sleep. Pretty much runs at full speed now, just a few graphical artifacts Old https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCM1H3WHxUE New https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrf2ZRkghLc Soulcalibur Broken Destiny. Also full speed, goes up to 60fps but game speed isn't affected until under 30 Old https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfZzA3Uf-WA New https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYqILUMnxYI Third Birthday Old https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFo31NBW0eo New https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a26NnhKWBGE
