I love Phantom Dust. I'm talking about NINE.Originally Posted by TheSeks

Also it apparently did FFXII before FFXII was FFXII. AWESOME. I so want to track this down even if it's "incomplete because it was meant to play on X-box Live" just to see this stuff in a 2002 time capsule.

HiI'mDaisy really needs to finish P4 and then get on P3. >_>Originally Posted by cj_iwakura

Sooo... what is everybody's favorite demon(s)? Based on looks, usefulness, or whatever criteria.
*Glacial Blast of Death*Are you ready?

I've played them. You asked me before! I don't really like any of them very much, but the SFC one is worth playing.Originally Posted by randomkid
So much lovely Kaneko, this thread is so great.
Has anyone actually played any of the Last Bible games? I still can't believe there was a Last Bible Super Famicom game.
And one for Game Gear too, it looks so awesome!
Seriously, what are these games like?
Ahaha as soon as I hit post I was like, wait, I think I remember asking Aeana about this before. I think I'd still like to try them all just for the art. You know me though, art >>> mechanics so I'm just an oddball that way.Originally Posted by Aeana

Might want to click that link, chief. (I wrote the second half of that article, by the way.)Originally Posted by Gorgon
There should be 4 games under Devil Summoner in the OP, not 3 (the two games with Raidou kuzonoha).
Where's Last Bible though, huh???!!! Your OP sucks bro.Originally Posted by cj_iwakura

It's in the HG101 article I linked to. Much like every SMT game ever made.Originally Posted by randomkid

Well, we can agree to disagree, but I enjoy both games. Raidou 1 is pretty short though. I'd recommend that.Originally Posted by Vamphuntr
Really in the mood to replay a megaten game right now. Haven't touched a JRPG since Xenoblade (yuck!).
I'm hesitating between Raidou 1 & 2 and DDS 1 & 2. Raidou 1 gameplay is bloody terrible but the setting and story are fantastic while DDS 1 story is awful while the gameplay and customization are ace.
well, some time ago I asked this to Ishida himself, Strange Journey director, and his answer was "Strange Journey is not SMT4".Originally Posted by cj_iwakura

Mara got the first place but there's so many I like. I'll put two favorite from Persona 2:Originally Posted by suzu

"Another thing that bothered me," Kaneko says, "was the trend of the main character always being portrayed as someone special--a legendary warrior, for example. It was the equivalent of saying you can't succeed unless you're from a wealthy family, and I just couldn't stand that. I wasn't born with special genes, and I'm sure most other players weren't, either. No matter who you are, if you're given a chance and have the guts to try your best, you can become a hero...that became the concept of Megami Tensei."
Unfortunately I don't know more than this :\ I send him a pm on his twitter page because I had some doubts about SJ.Originally Posted by cj_iwakura

I know it's sort of a plain design compared to a lot of MegaTen demons, but I've always been partial to Kaneko's Scathach:Originally Posted by suzu

The "they dropped it" is just as important as the "was supposed to be" in this statement.Originally Posted by cj_iwakura

Being an immense MegaTen and Kazuma Kaneko fan, both series are great! Raidou 1 is good, but Raidou 2 is amazing <3!Originally Posted by Vamphuntr

Go buy a PS2. You must.Originally Posted by Tenck

So might not be able to play them all.
Devil Survivor is a solid game. I'd say the biggest flaw is the subpar music and art design, but the gameplay and plot is ace.Originally Posted by Tenck

I'd suggest trying out Strange Journey since you have a 3DS. Do you have a PSP? If you do you can check out the first 3 Persona games (minus Innocent Sin)Originally Posted by Tenck

If you can survive SJ, you can survive any SMT. You, sir, are a better man than I.Originally Posted by dr3upmushroom
Seems like a decent enough place to ask: I have a pretty limited experience with the series but I've really, really enjoyed the titles I've played. Loved Strange Journey, loved P3P, loved what I played of P4 (I was plodding my way through it very slowly due to school and I got a new apartment at the beginning of the current semester and wasn't able to bring my TV along. When I saw that Vita is getting a port I just decided to start over when that comes out), and loved Devil Survivor Overclocked.
I'm interested in the P2 port that recently came out for PSP, but I'm wondering how dated it feels. Given that I've liked the games above, am I likely to enjoy P2, or is there a "It's good as long as you're fine with the clunky mechanics" caveat?
The characters, plot, music, and mood override any extra work you do in that game via conversation and card collecting easily. I just wish my PSP hadn't clonked out halfway in.Originally Posted by dr3upmushroom

IS also is the worst Persona game, so it's understandable. <3Originally Posted by DigitalDevil

I heart SMT. Is it weird that I bought a copy of P2:IS just to keep sealed? I don't even have a psp. Lol

Haha. No. Unless you typed "IS" for "Persona 1" in which case I forgive you.Originally Posted by The Mana Legend
