I listened to this last night twice. This is his worst project. I prefer WTT (despite his post graduation production).
I thought New God Flow, Mercy, Cold, The Morning, Bliss and the Ma$e verse were decent or good. Kanye still relies on the overproduction that was on WTT and MBDTF. 2012, we still have auto tune. And too many rappers are making pop sounding tracks versus traditional or trendy hip hop tracks. If he had released this album back in 2004-2006, it would've had his sped up sample style, simpler production and featured just Jay-Z, GLC, Consequence, Common, Twista and a few others. |

He sees me in the evening Want to catch all these feelings Well, let me be the first to get miiiiiiiiiineeee... It's really the chorus that makes the song. The Kanye transition was terrible. And Common is sort of out of place. I tried to listen to the album again on a long drive and could only stomach Mercy, New God Flow, Mercy, Cold (partly, didn't realize it had a Khris Humphries diss) and Bliss. I listened to Big Shug and Titty Boi's albums and preferred them from a thematic and production perspective. And if we're talking AOTY, I'd take a Masta Ace with reused Doom beats or Killer Mike. |

I have to say that after to listening to this one this is just not a good album. There are hints of greatness scattered throughout, but god songs like Clique and that terrible I Don't Like crap don't even need to be there. Can't wait for the next real Kanye album but this was not the amazing collaboration I envisioned when this was announced.

On Wikipedia it's considered Jay's fifth album. It's funny that this is coming from a poster named "YoungHav", but I don't have a dog in this race, I'm a fan of both.

Pretty mixed reviews on this one. A real gem, though:

It's not showing up on the Best Buy website either (though I could swear I seen it there in the past). Either way my Amazon copy should be here tomorrow.

I've heard two different leaks. One album had Ghostface on "New God Flow". The other had The DJ Khaled ending part of "Cold" removed, and two extra lines from Pusha T on "I Don't Like (Remix)".
The iTunes version needs to come out already. I woke up this morning excited AND BAM NOTHING. :( |

ALTHOUGH I just saw a track listing for a "Deluxe Edition". Not sure about how real it is. The list is reeealllyyy weird.

They did put Ghostface on New God Flow and Khaled isn't at the end of Cold, it's just DJ Pharsis. |

I dunno what the hell is going on. Bought the album from Amazon last night, and half of the tracks are called "____.1". New God Flow.1, Cold.1, etc. The album still isn't on iTunes, there's no deluxe version... weird stuff.
Any tracklist with "I Wish You Would" on it has to be fake, though, that's a cut from Khaled's tape. |

The version I got from Target for $10 includes a poster that had all the GOOD people standing in the shadows with the track listing on the back. The packaging is this thick cardboard sleeve sort of thing. |

Wow, I thought this album was postponed until Spring.
Id request a pm, but I fear banhammorz. I'm up in the air over this album, from what I've heard on Youtube. I first hated MBDTF, it screamed "over production". But lately when I listen to it, it's so well put together. The only song I loath is Runaway. It's hard to decide. I liked his lyrical content in the backpacker era, so modern Ye's lazy lyrics about mainstream stuff is the only turn off I have. Hmmmm... I really don't know. |

The more I listen to this, the more I feel like this is a collection of some good songs that just don't flow as a cohesive album. There's nothing I completely dislike (except maybe Higher) but the overall package just feels so inconsistent. CyHi's verses are all pretty dopey, Big Sean is alright but doesn't really do himself any favors by basically just delivering joke lines in between actually good verses. The Cudi song is pretty good but it feels really, really weird sort of plooped at the end of the album with just one MC on it. For better or worse, most of the album is clearly a G.O.O.D effort, and then there's just a Kid Cudi song.
I don't hate it, but I certainly don't love it yet. |
