We've all had a bash at it, let my kid do the karaoke mode before realising you don't even need to sing along, he liked it anyway.
![]() Any idea how many degrees the arcade's steering was set to? I tried 270° and it felt too slippy, more like an analogue stick, tried 540° which was good but a little too much so I suppose around 360° should be ideal? |

Advanced / Grandprix / Type B is my new favorite way to play. I am putting fools 2 or 3 laps under pace. WHO WANTS SOME.

Bought it once I found out it was on XBOX live. I haven't seen a populated live game since I played Outrun. Man, Daytona is so damn slick! I can't believe how rock solid this game is. I hope the multiplayer lobbies stay full for a while. Games like this don't deserve to die.
I feel like I just time warped back to junior high school back in 94 when I had a Saturn. Daytona and Guardian Heroes at the same time is giving me a retrogasm I've never experienced before. Thanks SEGA for giving so much fan service as of late. Daytona truly is a love letter to the fans. |

WITHOUT A DOUBT! NO ONE CAN DETEST. AFTER 17 YEARS, DAYTONA USA IS STILL THE BEST RACING GAME EVER! No contest.

Oh my god, man. This game. This port is something else.
I could just leave this fucking xbox on all day on attract mode. That alone is worth the 10 bucks I paid for the game. Hell, it might even justify the system itself. The only way this could be any better is if they sold you the goddamn hydraulics cockpit. This is pretty much perfect from what I remember the arcade (which is not much, I was never a good player) and for the Model 2 emulator. If this doesn't sell gangbusters this week, I don't know what else SEGA could've done to make it happen. For the first time in like 20 years, SEGA (AM2, always them) deserves to reap the rewards. |

regarding the G27 wheel on PS3.
Played for a while last night. Lots of fun but one small problem that I had was I had to turn the feedback way down (level 2), to minimize a constant vibrating that occurred in the wheel when turning. It made the steering lighter than I would like, but the vibrating noise was annoying at higher levels, and didn't sound like it was doing my wheel any good either. Is this an issue with other wheels too? |

Just played for a good two hours straight (I seem to have unlocked most of the achievements too! They are pretty easy, gets it out of the way and then there are challenges, survival mode leaderboards, multiplayer, etc, tons of content!!)
I have been kind of sad the past couple weeks and I can't describe it but this game is like pure Prozac, it just makes me happy to play it. It's never too frustrating and it's just one giant Happy Pill, I can see how Isamu got to how he is. I am going to be sleeping with Dayytooooooooonaaaaaaaaaaa repeating over and over in my head. |

Literally the only thing missing is LAN play. Oh well.
Time for a (likely brief) break. ![]()

I hope the game sells far more than something like 10K (which as the XBLA sales thread shows is a common number lately), 10K sales is probably losing money on the thing so why would they try with other games...maybe word of mouth will come through, hopefully Penny Arcade makes a comic about it or something...it really is a great game and holds up perfectly fine. |

Sad but true - SEGA does not want to make money via the suggestion of their own customers that are loyal to them even though millions of them are chanting the same voice. Pathetic. |

The Beginner track's traffic cone challenge is clever. It teaches you the fastest path through the track.

Is it me or does the sound balance seem off? Maybe I'm just not used to playing it in a quiet environment (i.e. giant arcade) but I had to up the music volume a bunch to get it to sound how I remembered it.
Game feels great tho, serious nostalgia rush :) |
