I think I was estimating in the other thread, but if my playtime on FFXIII was any indication, I'm probably going to put at least 100 hours into this.
I have little doubt, and I will have no regrets.

Those Time Labyrinth things are going to be more annoying than FFX's Cloister of Trials bits ever were.

If the purpose of your post miladesn, was to get me to pre-order this, you have succeeded. Well played.

That Temporal Rift clock reminds me of that clock in the Temple of the Ancients for some reason.

I'm still quite cautious about this game regarding the gameplay, narrative and flow, but the cityscape designs look damn impressive.

The menu Presentation is still looking bloody amazing, but I hate the Sci-fi look and the colour palette of the game.

I would assume that's at some other point in time, there's no way they could create a city like that in the untamed wilderness that is Gran Pulse after a few years.

Yeah, I'm all for this if I can explore nearly every nook and cranny (I probably won't be able to do this). Pretty settings are nice, but being able to explore them is even better.

This is an interesting shot. Those giant figures on the floor are numbers in the Etro alphabet, which was barely seen in the game; given that most of the Etro words were in Latin you'd think that they would use Roman numerals, but in fact SE prepared a set of ten digits, described in the Ultimania Omega, which never saw any action in the game.

But they're here, and if you look closely, you can see that the 4s are blue, the 3s green, the 2s orange, and the 1s red. So it looks like they're counting down in some way, and that something bad happens when you get to zero.

The letters in the circle surrounding those big colored figures don't seem to say anything and some of them look reversed. Maybe that circle is moving or rotating when the game is in action.

Looks amazing. I'm hoping they really give me the feel of exploration. That is something I just have to have in an RPG now. Straight lines don't do it for me unless it's an action game.

Don't you start! ^^;

I'm confident that the FFXII-loving crowd gave them enough rancor that the sense of exploration is coming back.

Besides, with Versus never actually coming out, they had to put those explorable-city assets somewhere.

See Square!? You just needed 2 more years to make FFXIII a decent game. Although, the story is not my cup of tea, the rest looks great.

I didn't want to come right out and say it, but this is exactly what I think as well. Shades of Nautilus and Palumpolum once again if this theory proves to be correct. Eden and its NPCs, at least, were handled fine I think.

Given that both the Cocoon and Pulse alphabets use Arabic numerals, I assumed that it would be natural that Etro numbers would use Arabic numerals as well. But yeah... it's interesting that Etro numerals do not use Roman numerals at all for consistency since it pulls lexical items from the Latin language quite a bit. Oh well.

I guess it's a minigame where you have to get across to the door before the numbers hit 1 or 0.

Looks pretty, but unless they found themselves a new script writer, or at least someone who knows how to transition a script from east to west without it sounding awkward as hell, I still can't be interested, even if it seems there's something to do other than run down a corridor for most of the game this time.
