FEATURES | Besides being rendered in HD (720p), all the games run at 60 FPS (Frames Per Second)
and have 5.1 Surround Sound. The MGS2 version is the Substance version which has hundreds of VR Missions,
the MGS3 version is the Subsistence versions which has a 3D camera and the MSX games Metal Gear
and Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake.

Another new feature is Transfarring, which is just a fancy Koji-word for transferring saves between PSP (VITA) and PS3.

Attention - Transfarring is not Region Free for Peace Walker, meaning a EU PSP Peace Walker save will not work on a US copy of the HD collection



Given the nature of these games, it's best not to know too much about the story or the characters,
especially for those who have never played the Metal Gear Saga, so I'm just putting here
a small synopsis of the story of all three games and its characters.

Also beware of Spoilers in the thread if you haven't played the games



Two years after the Shadow Moses Incident, Solid Snake and Otacon, working as Philanthropy,
receive intelligence of a new type of Metal Gear being transported
through the Hudson River. As Snake boards the tanker, it's seized by a group of
Russian mercenaries led by Revolver Ocelot, intent on stealing the new Metal Gear.










Set in Cold War-era Russia, the story centers on FOX operative Naked Snake as he attempts to rescue a
weapons designer and sabotage an experimental superweapon known as the Shagohod. While previous games
were set in a primarily urban environment, Metal Gear Solid 3 adopts a 1960s Soviet jungle setting.
While the setting has changed, the game's focus remains on stealth and infiltration, while still retaining the
series' self-referential, fourth wall-breaking sense of humor.
New gameplay elements are also introduced, such as CQC and camouflage.









The year is 1974. In Costa Rica, an unknown army of well-equipped soldiers has taken over the defenseless country.
The soldiers have also brought along a nuclear warhead labeled "Peace Walker", to set off their last nuclear warhead
for deterrence, and demonstrate their power with the perfect deterrent. Big Boss is asked to save the country
along with his Militaires Sans Frontieres (Soldiers Without Borders). It is later learned that the soldiers that invaded
the country are a rogue CIA unit, as well as the fact that the Militaires Sans Frontieres' client, a University for Peace
professor named Ramón Gálvez Mena, is actually an agent of the KGB. If Big Boss fights them then he will become
an enemy of America. Eventually, Big Boss and his soldiers would come to be known as the founders of Outer Heaven.

No, but VERSUS OPS in Peace Walker is online-enabled, along with CO-OPS; VERSUS OPS plays very similarly, so you'll be able to get your fix.

Part of me is glad of the EU delay. It sucks for everyone who wanted it next week, but for me personally, I'm broke as shit, and waiting until February means I have £25 towards Tales of the Abyss on 3DS now.

But then again, if money magically appears in my account this year, I may just import it for PS3 from VG+, and then double dip next February on 360.

Still, whenever it does come, I can't wait for some MGS2 and MGS3 in HD. Both are awesome games that will look great with the bumped up resolution. I played Peace Walker recently on PSP and whilst the story is almost as gunk as MGS4's, I did enjoy it for the co-op with a friend.
