Just finished the podcast. That discussion at the end hurt my head. I'm glad someone finally came out and said ASoIaF is garbage. Been saying it on GAF for years (and just yesterday in the what are you reading thread). I wish Martin would just sell the rights to the world and let someone who can write take the world and characters forward.

Finally a thread on the best non-sports podcast on the internet (at least that I have discovered). I have to disagree with you and Will on ASOIAF. The books are horrendously flawed, but the setting and some (very few at this point) of the characters are really well done. The books definitely jumped the shark and can be a little masochistic, but I still find them to be entertaining. Then again I am actually going to finish the Wheel of Times Books so my opinion might not be the best on the subject!

Back to the thread. The tested guys should test out some of the different VOIP services and boxes that support them. I tried out a cheapo one that I got from Amazon that let me go through Google Voice and so far it works flawlessly. If I can get it to work with 911 and take my current number I think I will drop the landline and save some money every month. Would love to see them take on the issue with their usual thoroughness.

It is surprising good for being 24 hours. It drags in some parts of the early morning segments, but its all worth a listen. The Video stream was fantastic though.

I usually go for Brother. You can usually find a cheap one that is B/W with wireless networking for between 70-100 on sale somewhere.

I like Brother printers because so far they have never failed me and most importantly their toner is really cheap compared to that of Samsung and HP.

Here are two I found right away on Amazon. Keep in mind I haven't used either. I use a more expensive multifunction Brother printer currently. I used to use a simpler one (like the $97 model I posted), but they don't make that anymore and I just gave it to my sister last year.

Love Brother! I have a pretty awesome all in one here in my home office that has worked great. (MFC-J615W). Has a relatively small footprint for its capabilities and I just bought 30 ink cartridges for $10 on Amazon.

Color is a pain in the ass no matter what printer you have. I don't need color so I just use B&W.

And I have the MFC7840W. It is a total beast for scanning and printing. I don't really use the copying or faxing options that often.

Also I don't know about Brother color printers dude. I only have experience with their black and white so I can't recommend anything regarding that. I know my friend has a Samsung color laser printer and it costs a shit load of money to replace the color toner (I think his has like 4 toners total).

So, I had never really picked up on how often these guys (especially Will) curse on the podcast until tonight. I went to run some errands with my wife and daughter (11 months). She is at the stage where she is trying to emulate sounds, so my wife has really been getting on me to swear less.

Anyway, I decided to throw the Tested podcast on as we pulled out of the driveway (wife tolerates-to-likes it). We made it almost half a mile before my wife mentioned the swearing. Another half mile and she says "you can keep this on until the next swear." Not five seconds later Will drops shit and ass about two seconds apart.

Sadly, that marked the end of listening to the tested podcast with my family....

Don't get me wrong, not asking you to change anything. Just gonna have to listen on my commute and while working out from now on.

I had no idea how much I swore until I had a kid. Apparently it is a fuck-ton. I also had no idea they were swearing on the show til my wife pointed it out. It's a lot. I don't care, I listened to the show while rolling my lawn today. Tested finds a way.

They talk about the big news stories in tech and whatever they've been "testing" too. Then they usually do a "fake outtakes" at the end, which is their time to talk about any random bullshit they want. Such as space. But yeah they also veer off during the show too, mostly at the beginning. They try not to do it too much though since that's what fake outtakes are for.
