LOL. I'm pretty sure the hearsay rule doesn't apply to police outside of the courtroom. That is the worst defense I've ever heard.
Even if the police are like, "No, I don't care what you heard about child rape, I need to hear directly from an actual witness or I won't investigate it," (Aside- how often do you even have a voluntary witness that calls the police? I guess no investigation without a witness makes it easier to be a detective) Paterno knows who that witness is. For fuck's sake, the police actually investigated complaints about one of the Onion's ridiculous tweets about a hostage situation. I assume there was no witness because there was no hostage situation. This is the worst ass covering I've ever heard. Paterno better hope the fact that he is an old, senile tradition protects him. |

So, as stated in the CFB thread, I grew up in State College. I attended school with one of his kids and have attended sleep overs at hos house. I've never witnessed any of the behavior alleged, or heard any stories from the others that were there. Maybe he was smart enough not to victimize his son's friends. Or maybe je left me alone because my bowl haircut was a boner killer. I dunno. But now my childhood feels creepy as fuck.

Watching Mike and Mike (an ESPN radio show that also airs on EPSN2) and this story is one of their Top Stories that they're going to get into more as the show goes on. It's also now one of the first stories that SportsCenter is talking about. This is heating up fast.

I put more blame on the University than Joe.

Sorry, but you didn't even come close to doing enough when you were given a first hand report. You let your superiors drop it so that yourself and the university could save face. |

I'll be curious to see if his charity survives this.
Granted, I don't know much about The Second Mile, but from what I do know, it has become a very substantial organization throughout Pennsylvania. Even though Sandusky will no longer have anything to do with it, will parents still want their children to be a part of it? And will people still donate to keep it going? The fact that he appears to have started it as a means to target children is just really, really sickening. |

How did McQueary live with himself? That is what I want to know. Instead of intervening ,he went home and told his Dad. Wasn't he still in his late 20s at the time? The guy is like 6'4"...why not go in there and physically take down the old man going to town on a kid?
I know how he lived with himself. He was promoted to assistant coach. |
