That is actually a good point that I didn't consider. I can't guarantee that is the law in PA, but it is not uncommon to toll (or pause, if you will) the statute of limitations in certain cases where there is a minor victim. Victim from 2005 incident would definitely allow this to fall within the limits if that is the case.

I haven't spent a decade studying the intricacies of our legal system nor do I preside over a campus police force but I'm pretty fucking sure that "inappropriate sexual conduct" with a minor is always a crime.

The grand jury presentment also said that in 1998, university police and the Centre County district attorney investigated reports of Mr. Sandusky having inappropriate contact with young boys in the campus showers. The district attorney decided not to press charges and the campus police chief at the time ordered the university detectives investigating it to close the case, according to the grand jury report. Mr. Sandusky retired as coach the next year, but continued to have a presence on campus.

Jesus, the guy retired 4 years prior amid allegations that he sexually assaulted children on campus. Absolutely unbelievable. At first, I thought JoePa would survive this but no way.
